摘要: An apparatus and system for temperature mitigation and, more particularly, a flexible heat spreader attachment that flexibly attaches to the periphery of a circuit board, allowing for its use with numerous circuit board shapes and sizes, including those of irregular shapes and sizes. The flexible heat spreader attachment includes a base plate, a heat spreader attached to the base plate, and four adjustable arms attached to the base plate, wherein each of the adjustable arms include circuit board hooks configured to attach to the periphery of a circuit board and maintain the heat spreader at a desired location on, and spaced from, the circuit board.

摘要: A method, a server, and a non-transitory computer readable medium are disclosed for switching from a radio frequency (RF) signal to an Internet Protocol (IP) connection based on rain fade events. The method includes receiving, on a server, current rain fade event data from one or more set-top boxes; receiving, on the server, past rain fade event data from the one or more set-top boxes; receiving, on the server, past weather data; receiving, on the server, current weather data; calculating, on the server, a likelihood of the one or more set-top boxes experiencing a rain fade event; and sending, from the server, an IP message to switch from the radio frequency (RF) signal to the Internet Protocol (IP) connection to each of the one or more set-top boxes likely to experience the rain fade event before the rain fade event occurs.

摘要: Wireless electronic devices include one or more wireless antennas to provide for wireless communications. The antenna cables are routed internally within the device and typically noise from components located on a circuit board may couple to the antenna cables and cause a degradation in wireless performance, impact antenna sensitivity and cause packet loss. Utilizing raised pathways in a heat sink utilized for thermal transfer of heat to a housing enables tunnels to be formed between the housing and the heat sink. Routing the antenna cables through the tunnels improves noise isolation for the antenna cables while still maintaining the heat transfer. The raised pathways are configured to not interfere with components on the circuit board or components included in the housing. The wireless antennas may be mounted within the housing instead of on the board so no portion of the antenna cables are located on the circuit board.

摘要: Disclosed herein is a system and method for bug fix recovery in an electronic device connected to a network. If a bug affecting a deployed electronic device is discovered, bug fix instructions for fixing, mitigating, or recovering from the bug, including rules and executable actions, can be stored in a cloud based server in communication with a deployed electronic device. Each set of instructions is associated with one or more identifiers of devices, firmware versions, and/or software versions that are affected by the bug. The server can be configured to query deployed electronic devices, and/or the deployed electronic devices can be configured to query the server to determine if a bug fix that is relevant to the electronic device has been stored on the server. Instructions can then be transmitted to the electronic device for execution or for display or announcement to a user (if user action is required).

摘要: A system and method for utilizing a plain-old-telephone (“POT”) to interface with a digital assistant system. The POT is linked to an interface adapted to selectively provide a bidirectional audio connection to a standard telephone communication network, or to provide an interface to a digital assistant system in response to user voice commands. The functionality of the POT digital assistant interface being dependent upon the user input—DTMF tone/pulse dialing signals as opposed to voice commands spoken into the POT mouthpiece. Audio cues and prompts, as well as audio responses from the digital assistant system are provided to the user via the POT earpiece. Digital assistant functionality is provided via a simple and familiar interface, without impeding any standard voice telephony functionality (making/receiving calls, call waiting, caller ID, etc.)

摘要: The disclosure relates to a methods and apparatus to perform improved trickplay for higher speeds and high-latency networks. In one aspect, the method comprises receiving, in a processor, data comprising a video or audiovisual signal formatted in a sequence of chunks downloaded sequentially over a communications medium. When the processor receives a command to display the data at a trickplay speed that is higher than normal speed, the processor can begin to skip a number of chunks before downloading a next chunk in the sequence of chunks, decoding, and displaying the decoded chunk. The number of skipped chunks between each downloaded chunk may be a preset number and/or may be dynamically determined in the event that a downloaded chunk is skipped because it is not downloaded in time or if the expected download time of the next chunk is longer than the display time of the current chunk.

摘要: Methods, systems, and computer readable media may be operable to facilitate the resolving of a tuner conflict at a digital video recorder. When a multimedia device receives a request for a new recording session, and there is no available tuner for carrying out the recording session, the multimedia device may determine a duration of time until a tuner becomes available. If the duration of time until a tuner becomes available is less than a threshold duration, the multimedia device may initiate the recording session once the tuner becomes available, and the missing portion of the recording may be recovered at an alternate time or from an alternate content source. When the missing portion is recovered, the recording and the missing portion may be stitched together. If the duration of time until a tuner becomes available is greater than a threshold, the multimedia device may present alternate times for recording the requested content.
