Abstract:
The present technology resolves playlist version conflicts resulting from modifications made to a playlist version, stored on a client device and in a cloud locker, when the client device and the cloud locker are in a disconnected state. The present technology is a heuristic for determining how to resolve such version conflicts. Upon reconnection of the client and cloud locker, the server, associated with cloud locker attempts to reconcile any version discrepancies resulting from user-initiated changes. In one embodiment, when the server determines that one of the playlists on the client or server is a superset of the other, the superset is selected and saved to both the client and cloud locker, while the subset version is deleted.
Abstract:
Inhibiting uncontrolled regeneration of a particulate filter fluidly coupled to an exhaust manifold of an internal combustion engine may comprise reducing an oxygen concentration of exhaust gas supplied to the particulate filter if active regeneration of the particulate filter is in progress and rotational speed of the engine speed thereafter drops to an idle speed range from an elevated rotational speed that is greater than the idle speed range. Reducing the oxygen concentration of the exhaust gas supplied to the particulate filter may include any one or combination of reducing the oxygen concentration of intake air supplied to the intake manifold, reducing the air portion of the air-to-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture supplied to the engine and removing oxygen from the exhaust gas supplied to the particulate filter.
Abstract:
By employing AFC range extension, a high frequency communication device (100) can use a low cost, low accuracy crystal (119) in its reference oscillator (118). AFC range extension involves varying receive bandwidth of the communication device (100) to facilitate AFC or automatic frequency control. In particular, the receive bandwidth is set to a first, wide setting for AFC acquisition purposes (208). Frequency error associated with a received AFC signal is determined (212) and receive reception is adjusted (218) to reduce frequency error in the communication device (100). Once the frequency error is below a predetermined threshold (214), the receive bandwidth is set to a second setting different from the first setting for normal reception (220).
Abstract:
A computer network includes frame- or packet-based subnetworks connected by switches, the switches being interconnected by high-capacity trunks using a connection-based data transfer protocol similar to Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM). Some of the trunks include a Permanent Virtual Path (PVP) trunk crossing an ATM core network, the PVP trunk including one or more bidirectional PVPs. A multipoint-to-point (MPT) protocol is used among the switches to transfer packets as groups of cells directly from "leaf", or source, switches to "root", or destination, switches without requiring significant routing-related processing during cell transmission. The switches allocate virtual path identifiers in a conserving manner such that (i) MPT paths from multiple leaf switches are merged to one path with a single virtual path identifier terminating at a root switch; (ii) on the PVP trunks, a virtual path identifier already allocated for an outgoing connection is allocated to an incoming connection ahead of any virtual path identifiers that are completely unallocated; and (iii) a range of virtual path identifiers is pre-provisioned at the core network access points, so that a switch connected to an access point allocates virtual path identifiers from the pre-provisioned range on behalf of upstream switches to extend MPTs across the core network.
Abstract:
The subject matter of this invention relates to a process for deactivating the soluble metal cations contained in iron oxide pigments comprising:A. adding, while oxidizing, an alkalizing compound to an iron oxide pigment, a slurry until the pH of the pigment slurry is greater than 9; andB. separating the iron oxide pigment from the liquid phase of the slurry. The pigments can be used as colorants for substances ingested by man and animals, and they can also be used to stabilize plastics against ultraviolet degradation.
Abstract:
A monomeric reactant is adsorbed on the surface of a pigment prior to its agglomeration. The subsequent addition of a polymerization initiator or second reactant produces a coated pigment of improved dispersibility, especially in chemically related polymer binder systems.
Abstract:
Brine from a conventional treatment process is pre-filtered prior to the electrolysis of same by a method which includes the steps of: (a) heating the brine, (b) adding sodium carbonate thereto, (c) stirring the solution, (d) allowing the solution to settle, and (e) passing the solution through an absolute membrane filter. The filter "polishes" the brine feed by removing the high hardness ions.

VERMICULITE, AFTER HAVING BEEN CHEMICALLY TREATED, HAS ENHANCED ABSORPTIVE AND COAGULATIVE PROPERTIES, AND CAN BE USED TO REMOVE CONTAMINATES OCCURING IN WASTE WATERS BY REMOVING PHOSPHATES FROM THE WASTE WATER. THE TREATMENT CONSISTS OF (1) EXPANDING THE VERMICULITE AND (2) TREATING THE EXPANDED VERMICULITE WITH AN AQUEOUS SOLUTION OF AN INORGANIC SALT, THE CATION OF WHICH IS IN A +2 OR HIGHER VALENCE STATE.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for dynamically adjusting the power consumption of an organic light-emitting diode (OLED) panel are disclosed. In embodiments, a histogram of a frame to be displayed is generated, and a weighted dimming curve is generated, with heavier weighting given to mid-tone intensity pixels. High and low intensity pixels are left only minimally adjusted. The curve is then capped and smoothed to prevent artifacts and to preserve image contrast. Each pixel in the frame is then dimmed according to the curve, and the resultant transformed frame is displayed on the OLED panel.
Abstract:
Described herein is a system for multi-point touch for identification. The system can include multi-point touch sensor firmware that identifies multiple points of touch. The firmware can also identify a pattern based on the multiple points of touch. The firmware can also identify an input device to the system based on the pattern.
