Abstract:
A rotor assembly and a method for fabricating the same are provided in which a solid rotor ring is formed at either end of a stack of laminated discs, the solid rotor rings yielding improved electrical and mechanical characteristics in a low weight assembly. The solid rotor rings are fabricated by brazing slugs between the end portions of the rotor bars, the braze joints contacting a large percentage (at least 90%) of the rotor bar end portions.
Abstract:
A system and method links batteries in parallel to conductors using wire bonds that act as fuses in the event of an overcurrent condition in a battery. To protect the wire bonds in the case of a larger overcurrent condition, a fuse may be added in series to the parallel batteries.
Abstract:
A battery pack thermal management system for use in an electric car. The battery pack thermal management system includes a plurality of thermistors connected to a plurality of cells of a battery pack. A battery monitor board is connected to the thermistors. The system also includes a manifold and a plurality of cooling tubes connected to the manifold. A tube seal plug is arranged over an end of the cooling tube and an end fitting is arranged on an end of the cooling tube. The thermal management system will cool the battery pack to predetermined temperatures to increase the longevity of the battery pack within the electric vehicle.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer program products, for searching for and presenting backups. A first search result including a first version of an item is presented. The first version is associated with a first date range having a first start date and a first end date. User input requesting that an archive including one or more versions of the item be searched is received. A second search result including a second version of the item is presented. The second version is different from the first version. The second version is associated with a second date range having a second start date and a second end date. The second date range does not overlap with the first date range.

Abstract:
A computer system having a network processor comprising a core processor and at least one microengine in operative communication with the core processor is provided. A table comprised of a plurality of entries with IP addresses associated therewith is built, wherein the entries are organized hierarchically according to an LC-Trie compression algorithm operating on the IP addresses. An Information packet is received within the computer system, wherein the information packet has a destination IP address associated therewith. The table is searched using an LC-Trie search algorithm to find a match between an IP address of an entry in the table and the destination IP address of the information packet. The information packet is transmitted to a forwarding IP address associated with the IP address of the matching entry. An interface is provided to accommodate communication between the core processor and microengine of the network processor.
Abstract:
A system and method mounts batteries in a substrate or insert to a substrate, electrically connects them via a set of conductors, and cools them using air, or cooling tubes having a flow of air or coolant running in opposite directions past each of the batteries.
Abstract:
A system for transporting inventory includes an inventory holder and a mobile drive unit. The inventory holder includes a frame capable of storing inventory items and a docking plate capable of receiving a docking head from underneath. The mobile drive unit, includes a docking head capable of coupling to the docking plate and a drive module capable of propelling the mobile drive unit. The mobile drive unit is further capable to move the inventory holder when the docking head is coupled to the inventory holder.
Abstract:
A lenticular fireplace and methods for simulating a fire within a fireplace. In one respect, a fire is simulated with a lenticular screen. The lenticular screen includes a lenticular lens layer and an image layer, wherein the image layer comprises one or more images of a fire. A device is coupled to the lenticular screen that moves the lenticular screen to alter a viewed image of the fire. In another respect, the lenticular screen is disposed within a fireplace enclosure. In another respect, a fireplace includes a convertible heated glass apparatus. The apparatus is used in a front wall of an enclosure.
Abstract:
A double skin trommel having an inner drum and an outer drum joined together to rotate. Material is fed into one end of the inner drum, where some passes through apertures therein and the rest moves to the opening at the opposite end and is discharged as oversize material to a stockpile. Material that passes through the apertures is received in the outer drum which has roller mesh screen panels around a helical discharge spiral. Material that is smaller than the opening in the mesh passes through onto a conveyor and that fines grade material is stockpiled. The material that is retained in the outer drum is moved by the spiral to the discharge end of the drum and that middle grade material is conveyed to a stockpile. The apparatus is transportable being mounted on a chassis.
