    摘要: A device for use in an engine brake control to move an exhaust valve to an open position includes an actuator engageable with the exhaust valve and an electrically-operable control valve. The actuator includes a valve spool and a slave piston wherein the slave piston includes a passage and wherein the valve spool includes a high pressure annulus coupled to a source of high fluid pressure and a low pressure annulus coupled to a source of low fluid pressure. The valve spool is movable relative to the slave piston to interconnect the passage with the high pressure annulus or the low pressure annulus. The electrically-operable control valve selectively provides high fluid pressure to the valve spool and to the slave piston to cause the slave piston to oscillate about a point at which the exhaust valve is disposed in the open position and the passage is alternately connected to the low pressure annulus and the high pressure annulus.

A first turbocharger includes a first turbine having at least one inlet and an outlet, and a first compressor having an inlet and an outlet. Then at least one first turbine inlet has a controllable, variable intake nozzle fluidly coupled with the first exhaust manifold. A second turbocharger includes a second turbine having an inlet and an outlet, and a second compressor having an inlet and an outlet. The second turbine inlet has a controllable, variable intake nozzle fluidly coupled with the second exhaust manifold. The first compressor outlet is fluidly coupled with the second compressor inlet. The engine has improved performance, is compact in design and is economical in operation.

    摘要: Past exhaust emission control systems have failed to clean the exhaust gas prior to mixing with the intake air. The present exhaust emission control system removes at least a portion of the exhaust constituents from a flow of exhaust gas prior to mixing with a flow of intake air. The present exhaust emission control system includes a control system for monitoring a operating parameter of an engine. The control system interprets the operating parameter within a controller and the controller causes an exhaust valve regulator to move between an open position and a closed position. Thus, the movement of the exhaust valve regulator infinitely between the open position and the closed position defines the quantity of flow of exhaust gas to be mixed with the flow of intake air and controls the emission, especially of NOx, being emitted from the engine depending on the operating parameters of the engine.

    摘要: An outward opening valve system includes an engine having a fluid cavity in fluid communication with an accumulator chamber by a transfer passage, a hollow piston cylinder in fluid communication with a gas passageway via an opening, and an intensifier bore that opens to the hollow piston cylinder. The opening includes an outward valve seat adjacent the gas passageway. An outward valve member with a valve face is moveable between a closed position in which the valve face is against the valve seat closing the opening and an open position in which the valve face is away from the valve seat. A compression spring is utilized to bias the outward valve member toward its open position. An intensifier piston is positioned in the intensifier bore with one end exposed to fluid pressure in the hollow piston cylinder. A coupling linkage interconnects the intensifier piston to the outward valve member. An accumulator plunger is positioned in the accumulator chamber and moveable between a release position and a storage position, but is biased toward its release position by a compression spring. A control valve member is positioned in the transfer passage and has a first position in which the accumulator chamber is open to the fluid cavity and a second position in which the accumulator chamber is closed to the fluid cavity.
