Abstract:
Continuous equipment operation is facilitated despite disablement of an automation controller for controlling the equipment. A safe state in which equipment is to be maintained upon disablement of the automation controller is determined. Safe state data is provided for configuring an I/O module, through which the automation controller controls the equipment, with the safe state data to facilitate maintaining the equipment in the safe state during disablement of the automation controller. In one embodiment, upon subsequent enablement of the automation controller, a current state of the I/O module is evaluated and an automatic control state into which the equipment is to be transitioned is determined. The equipment is then transitioned to the determined automatic control state.
Abstract:
Apparatus suitable for detecting a fault in a processor comprises a monitor which receives input and output signals from the processor and generates a hash index key which is used to access entries in a hash table. The entries may include actions such as setting a timer so that the response of an output to a change of state of an input may be confirmed as valid within a specified time interval.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention provide new and improved folding apparatuses and methods for interfolding a continuous stream of sheets into a single-fold interfolded pattern of sheets while passing all of the sheets substantially along a single sheet path. More particularly, all sheets in the continuous stream of sheets pass through the nips between adjacent components.
Abstract:
An end cap secured to a tubular member for use in repairing post-tensioned concrete, including a first segment, a second segment, and a third segment. The first segment has a first end and a first opening, where the first segment is substantially cylindrical in shape. The second segment is substantially frustoconical in shape. The third segment has a second end and a second opening and is substantially cylindrical in shape. The second segment is disposed between and integral with the first segment and the third segment. A cavity is formed by the first, second, and third segments, where the first end is arranged to be secured to a tubular member and at least one cable is disposed longitudinally within the cavity.
Abstract:
A device includes a code that is interpretable to identify a three-dimensional (3D) design specification by which a replacement for the device can be printed on a 3D printer.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for separating streams of interfolded sheets into individual stacks of sheets are provided. Separation of the stacks is provided by a plurality of fingers mounted to carriages that are moved into and out of openings the stream of interfolded sheets. The openings may be formed without using the force of gravity. Further, the fingers may be inserted into the openings with a motion that has a larger component in a direction parallel to the stream of interfolded sheets than in a direction perpendicular to the stream of interfolded sheets. Further, the components that separate the stacks also may transport the stacks and directly transfer the stacks to downstream components.
Abstract:
The present invention is a heart stimulation medical device that is electrically self-sustaining. The present invention uses the patient's body as a battery or source of electric current. The device relates to the functions of a pacemaker and detecting and/or treating cardiac arrest. The present invention may be characterized as at least including a heart sensor for detecting a heartbeat of the patient and for generating a heartbeat signal; a processor for receiving the heart beat signal and for transitioning the medical device between an active state and an inactive state; an electrical pulse output that is electrically connectible to a portion of the patient's heart; and a power harvester that is adapted to harvest electric current from the patient's body and the power harvester is electrically connected to at least the pulse output and the processor so that the medical device is electrically self-sustaining when in an active state.
Abstract:
The subject disclosure is directed towards providing a web application with access to hardware accelerated graphics. A rendering format for a set of video frames is established. A graphics component, which is coupled to a graphics device and associated with an unsupported file type, is identified. The graphics component generates image data compromising the hardware accelerated graphics. When the web application requests a set of video frames, the image data is transformed into the set of video frames in accordance with the format. Then, the set of frames is communicated to a display device.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for tracking device management data changes comprising storing information related to modification to device management data wherein the device management data is stored in an Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) compliant device management tree of Managed Objects (MO).
Abstract:
An oxygen emitter which is an electrolytic cell is disclosed. When the anode and cathode are separated by a critical distance, very small microbubbles and nanobubbles of oxygen are generated. The very small oxygen bubbles remain in suspension, forming a solution supersaturated in oxygen. A flow-through model for oxygenating flowing water is disclosed. The use of supersaturated water for enhancing the growth of plants is disclosed. Methods for applying supersaturated water to plants manually, by drip irrigation or in hydroponic culture are described. The treatment of waste water by raising the dissolved oxygen with the use of an oxygen emitter is disclosed.
