A carbon fiber composite including: carbon fiber; and silicon carbide coated on the surface of the carbon fiber, and a production method of the same are provided. The carbon fiber composite may reduce weight, implement an outstanding heat-dissipating efficiency by using high thermal conductivity, and be used in various ways in electronic products and the like where heat-dissipating characteristics are required.
Abstract:
There is immense scientific interest in the properties of resonant thin films embroidered with periodic nanoscale features. This device class possesses considerable innovation potential. Accordingly, we report unpolarized broadband reflectors enabled by a serial arrangement of a pair of polarized subwavelength gratings. Optimized with numerical methods, the elemental gratings can be fabricated in various materials systems. Illustrative examples provided consist of a partially-etched crystalline-silicon films on a quartz substrate and amorphous silicon films on glass. The resulting reflectors exhibit extremely wide spectral reflection bands in one polarization. By arranging two such reflectors sequentially with orthogonal there results an unpolarized spectral band that exceeds those of the individual polarized bands. In the prototypes disclosed herein, there results zero-order reflectance exceeding 97% under unpolarized light incidence over a 500-nm-wide wavelength band. This wideband represents a ˜44% fractional band in the near infrared spectral band. The elemental polarization-sensitive reflectors based on one-dimensional resonant gratings have simple design, robust performance, and are straightforward to fabricate. Hence, this technology is a promising alternative to traditional multilayer thin-film reflectors especially at longer wavelengths of light where multilayer deposition may be infeasible or impractical
Abstract:
A passive cooling system of a nuclear power plant includes a steam generator, a cooling water storage tank, a water cooling heat exchanger, an air cooling heat exchanger, a divergence valve, and a cooling tower. The steam generator generates steam by heat exchange with a primary coolant system, and the cooling water storage tank stores cooling water therein. The water cooling heat exchanger is disposed in the cooling water storage tank, and the air cooling heat exchanger is connected to the steam generator. The divergence valve is controllable to divert steam from the steam generator into both the water cooling heat exchanger and the air cooling heat exchanger. Each of the cooling water storage tank, the water cooling heat exchanger, and the air cooling heat exchanger are located in the cooling tower.
Abstract:
A vertical memory device includes a substrate, gate lines, channels, contacts and contact spacers. The gate lines are stacked on top of each other on the substrate. The gate lines are spaced apart from each other in a vertical direction with respect to a top surface of the substrate. The gate lines include step portions that extend in a parallel direction with respect to the top surface of the substrate. The channels extend through the gate lines in the vertical direction. The contacts are on the step portions of the gate lines. The contact spacers are selectively formed along sidewalls of a portion of the contacts.

Additionally, a ground radiation antenna having an excellent radiation performance, even when one side of a mobile communication terminal is covered with a conductive substance, such as an LCD panel, is also provided herein.
Abstract:
A method for detecting coverage loss in a broadband wireless access system is disclosed, which recognizes a connection state between a mobile station (MS) and a base station (BS), and provides a method and apparatus for quickly performing network re-entry when the MS moves out of a coverage area of the BS. A method for allowing a base station to perform coverage loss detection of a mobile station in a broadband wireless access system includes unsolicitedly transmitting a first message wherein a bit for requesting ranging execution is set, to the mobile station, and upon receiving a second message for confirming the ranging from the mobile station prior to expiration of a first timer that begins to operate when the first message is transmitted, restarting operating a second timer established for the mobile station.
