摘要: Thermally responsive walls can be formed of wall panels made from different materials and having staggered conduits with respect to each other when coupled together (e.g., pancaked or layered) to form a wall at one temperature. The staggered conduits in the different wall panels are configured such that they become aligned at a second temperature due to differences in expansion coefficients. The wall panels can be designed using a computing system that processes an algorithm that accounts for various parameters, such as the different thermal expansion coefficients.

摘要: A microchip for forming an emulsion has a first glass substrate, a second glass substrate and a silicon substrate. The silicon substrate has formed therein a first fluid flow path through which a first fluid flows and a second fluid flow path through which a second fluid that is not mixed with the first fluid flows. The first fluid flow path has a plurality of branched flow paths that join at a joint portion. The second fluid flow path communicates with the joint portion. The silicon substrate has formed therein an emulsion formation flow path that faces an edge portion of the second fluid flow path at the joint portion. An emulsion composed of the first fluid and the second fluid that is surrounded by the first fluid is formed in the emulsion formation flow path.

摘要: A solid electrolytic capacitor that includes a laminated body, a solid electrolyte layer, and conductive bases. The laminated body is obtained by laminating a plurality of dielectric-coated valve action metal sheets, each of which includes a valve action metal base and a dielectric coating, and joining together the adjacent valve action metal bases. The valve action metal base has a cathode layer part, and the dielectric coating covers the surface of the valve action metal base at least the cathode layer part. The valve action metal base of at least one of the dielectric-coated valve action metal sheets further has an anode lead part. The solid electrolyte layer is a continuous layer that fills gaps between the dielectric-coated valve action metal sheets and covers the outer surface of the laminated body at the cathode layer parts, and conductive bases are provided in the solid electrolyte layer.

摘要: An electromagnetic relay having a high positioning accuracy of a movable iron piece and little variation in operating characteristics. A pair of upper and lower rotating shaft convex portions are provided at one end of a movable iron piece along the same shaft center. The pair of upper and lower rotating shaft convex portions are rotatably supported by a base and a spool of an electromagnetic block mounted on the base respectively. A movable contact piece is driven by the movable iron piece rotated by magnetization or demagnetization of the electromagnetic block to open or close a contact. One end of the spool has a shaft hole in which the upper rotating shaft convex portion of the movable iron piece is inserted.

摘要: A sectioning instrument fabricates a section having an accurate and uniform thickness to be carried to a next step automatically without deforming a surface of an embedded block and while observing the surface of the embedded block. The sectioning instrument includes a sample base for fixing an embedded block, a cutter for fabricating a section by sectioning the embedded block, a carrier for carrying the section, and a feed mechanism for moving the sample base in a predetermined feed direction. The carrier includes a belt, a direction switching portion provided on an upper side of the cutter, and a rear roller. The belt is inserted to between the cutter and the direction switching portion from a rear side of the cutter, folded back to an upper side by the direction switching portion and is reeled back to the rear side of the cutter by the rear roller substantially in parallel with the feed direction of the feed mechanism in a plane view.

The four chips connected resistor device 1 as an electronic component comprises: an insulating substrate 2 including a front surface 2a, a back surface 2b and a side surface 2c connecting the front surface 2a with the back surface 2b; a pair of terminal electrodes placed on the front and back surfaces 2a and 2b and the side surface 2c; a resistor element 5 including a resistor member 4 connected to the pair of terminal electrodes, and a protective layer (a glass film 6 and an overcoating film 7) for protecting the resistor member 4: the auxiliary electrode 9 placed with covering the interface 8 between the overcoating film 7 and the terminal electrode 3; and a nickel plated layer 10 and a solder plated layer 11 placed on the surfaces of the terminal electrode 3 and the auxiliary electrode 9. The interface 8 is placed at the end portion 2c of the insulating substrate 2.

摘要: An automatic slicing apparatus reduces the likelihood of failure to make a sliced piece specimen even if continuously operated. The apparatus, on the basis of an exchange command signal, detaches a sample block attached to a cutting base and attaches a new sample block to the cutting base. The apparatus cuts a sliced piece of a predetermined thickness by moving a knife with respect to the sample block having been attached to the cutting base. The apparatus also observes the sliced piece having been cut and judges the sliced piece by comparing an observation data obtained by the observation means and a sample block cut face data. When the apparatus judges that the sliced piece is good, the apparatus transmits an exchange command signal.
