    摘要: The present invention provides a field emission system and a method for improving its vacuum. The present invention employs aging surface-unsaturated carbon nanotubes in non-display areas of the field emission system as getter material to absorb residual gas within the system so as to improve its vacuum. The present method for improving vacuum of the field emission system can be integrated with the standard process of a field emission display device without additional fabricating steps, and thus facilitating the mass production of the field emission display device.

    摘要: A quadrode field emission display is provided, where a low driving voltage is reached by an edge structure, and display in the dark is achieved by adding a sub-gate electrode. With respect to the electrical characteristics that an edge structure may raise the electric field intensity, an edge of a cathode plate through an opening of a gate layer is exposed, thereby forming the edge structure at an emitter to raise the electric field. It also reduces the driving voltage substantially. Therefore, the display in the dark is achieved by adjusting the voltage without changing the structure.

Since the volume of each emission source is small, the bubbles resided inside the emission sources can be reduced, such that the qualities of the field emission flat lamp and the cathode plate thereof can be improved.
