Described herein is a perfluoropolymer and compositions therefrom. The perfluoropolymer is derived from: (a) no more than 88 mol % tetrafluoroethylene monomer; and (b) a complementary amount of a perfluoro (cycloaliphatic methyl vinyl ether) monomer, and has substantially no melting point.

The process includes providing an aqueous mixture including perfluorinated monomers, a fluoroalkyl sulfinic acid or salt thereof, and an oxidizing agent capable of oxidizing the fluoroalkyl sulfinic acid or salt thereof and polymerizing the perfluorinated Nmonomers under free radical conditions to provide an aqueous dispersion of the fluoropolymer. The fluoroalkyl group has from one to three carbon atoms. The amount of perfluorooctanoic acid or salt thereof in the aqueous dispersion of the fluoropolymer as polymerized is not more than 25 nanograms per gram of the fluoropolymer. A fluoropolymer made by the process is also described.

Described herein are compounds according to Formula (I) wherein each Rf is independently selected from a perfluorinated divalent group comprising 2 to 12 carbon atoms; and m is an integer independently selected from 1 to 3. A method of making the compound from a hydroxy-containing vinyl ether and excess ammonia is disclosed. In one embodiment, the hydroxy-functionalized triazine compound is used in a curable fluoropolymer composition and cured to form articles.

Described herein is method of making branched perfluorinated compounds, specifically (CF3)2CFCF(CF3)OCF(CF3)C(═O)F and (CF3)2CFCF(CF3)OCF═CF2. Also disclosed herein is a fluoropolymer derived from the branched perfluorovinyl ether monomer and methods of making the fluoropolymer.

Articles comprising a fluoropolymer-containing composition bonded to a silicone polymer-containing composition are described, where at least one of the compositions comprise a partially-fluorinated silane bonding agent. Methods of preparing such articles, and exemplary articles such as fuel hoses are also described.
