摘要: A polymer composition for producing gel extruded articles is described. The polymer composition contains polyethylene particles combined with a plasticizer and one or more shutdown reducing additives. The shutdown reducing additives decrease the shutdown temperature of polymer articles made from the polymer composition. In one embodiment, the polymer composition is used to form a porous membrane for use of a battery separator.

摘要: Curable fluorine-containing compositions and fluoroelastomer compositions are described herein that provide for reduction in viscosity and improvement in processability, as well as a lowering of a lowest use temperature of a fluoroelastomer by incorporating in such compositions a fluid plasticizer that includes at least one, at least partially fluorinated organic compound and that is capable of reducing viscosity and improving processability of a fluoroelastomer formed from a curable fluorine-containing polymer in comparison to a fluoroelastomer formed from the same curable fluorine-containing polymer without the at least one, at least partially fluorinated organic compound and/or that is capable of achieving a lowest use temperature of a fluoroelastomer formed from the curable fluorine-containing polymer that is lower than a lowest use temperature of a fluoroelastomer formed from the same curable fluorine-containing polymer without the at least one, at least partially fluorinated organic compound. Methods of improving processability and/or reducing viscosity and/or lowering the lowest use temperature of a fluoroelastomer are also described.

摘要: A biomass-elastomer composite including an elastomer matrix; a biomass reinforcement distributed through the elastomer matrix, where the biomass reinforcement includes algae and the algae includes protein, ash, and carbohydrates when distributed into the elastomer matrix; and a mixing additive sufficient to achieve a desired property for a solid good. The mixing additive can be selected from the group consisting of a plasticizer, a compatibilizer, a vulcanizing agent, a curing agent, a crosslinker, a coupling agent, an elastomer compound having polar functionalization, a thermoplastic compound having polar functionalization, a performance enhancing additive, and combinations thereof. The mixing additive is sufficient to form a solid good. The algae can be present in a milled condition having a particle size value of up to 120 microns.

Specifically, the thermoplastic resin composition includes a base resin including at least two polypropylene-based resins having different melt indexes, an elastomer having a melt index (190° C., 2.16 kg) of 20 g/10 min to 35 g/10 min as measured by ASTM D1238, and inorganic particles, and has a flexural modulus (FM) of 2,500 MPa or more and a coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) of 60 μm/m° C. or less.

摘要: A composition and a manufacturing method of a highly flame-retardant and low-smoke extruded polyvinyl chloride pipe are provided. The composition includes a polyvinyl chloride resin material, a flame retardant additive and a carbon forming additive. The polyvinyl chloride resin material is in an amount between 10 PHR (parts per hundred resin) and 90 PHR. The flame retardant additive is in an amount between 0.5 PHR and 2.0 PHR, and is a phosphorus-containing flame retardant modified by a modifier. The carbon forming additive is in an amount between 0.2 PHR and 1.0 PHR. The carbon forming additive is at least one material selected from a group consisting of zinc chloride, zinc stearate, calcium stearate, zinc hydroxystannate, anhydrous zinc stannate, zinc phosphate and zirconium phosphate. A total added amount of the flame retardant additive and the carbon forming additive in the composition is not greater than 3 PHR.
