摘要: Methods and devices in a wireless communication system are provided, in which a first portion and a second portion of signals are transmitted on a physical channel to a first transceiver from a second transceiver. A method for controlling transmission parameters in the wireless communication system comprises the steps of: transmitting an indication indicating that the first and the second receiver processing algorithms are used in the first transceiver to process the first and second portions, respectively, of signals received on the physical channel; receiving the indication at the second transceiver; and adjusting, at the second transceiver in response to the indication, a transmission parameter for at least one of the first and second portions of signals to be transmitted on the physical channel to the first transceiver. The indication could be transmitted from the first transceiver, or it could be determined through evaluations carried out at the second transceiver.

摘要: The excess signal-to-interference ratio (SIR) or the like of a communication channel is determined by repeatedly decoding received information with successively reduced effective SIR. The step size in an outer power control algorithm, for example a Jump Algorithm, such as that commonly used for transmit power control in communication systems can then be adaptively adjusted based on the excess SIR, enabling faster convergence. Decoder hardware already present in a user equipment, such as a mobile telephone or other receiver, can advantageously be used.

摘要: A method and apparatus for providing handover between carriers of different duplex frequency separation distances is provided. A mobile terminal is configured to operate in both fixed and variable duplex. The ability operate with unpaired up-link and down-link frequency carrier pairs, when necessary, makes it possible to significantly increase the spectrum utilization (capacity) in a cellular system using asymmetric up-link and down-link for example in WCDMA systems.

摘要: A method of performing cell measurements in a telecommunications system. The method includes the steps of receiving a signal by a user equipment (UE) operating within the telecommunications system and served by a serving cell, storing the received signal in a buffer, and determining a first portion of the signal related to the serving cell and a second portion related to neighbor (NB) cells. The first portion of the signal is decoded by the Fast Fourier Transforms (FFT) and the signal strength is estimated by a measurement unit coupled to the FFT. Next, any approximately synchronized NB cell signals in the second portion of the signal are then decoded and a signal strength is estimated. It is then determined if sufficient time remains to process unsynchronized NB cell signals of the second portion of the signal. If it is determined that sufficient time remains, the second portion of the signal is played back and decoded using the FFT and a signal strength of any unsynchronized NB cell signals of the second portion of the received signal is estimated.

摘要: A detection strategy is selected for use in detecting a shared control channel that is transmitted on a physical channel in a communication system. This involves using a previously selected detection strategy to detect the shared control channel. The power of the detected shared control channel is measured. At least two correlation results are generated by correlating the measured power with each of at least two parameters that are associated with one or more other physical channels used in the communication system. Based on the at least two correlation results, a detection strategy is selected for upcoming use in detecting the shared control channel.

摘要: The invention relates to devices and methods for chemical analysis, specifically to devices for extracting molecules, e.g. biomolecules such as peptides, and/or proteins, from a mixture of molecules in a solution and performing sample treatment on the extracted molecules before presenting them to an analysis instrument. The method for analysis of samples uses a combined sample treatment and sample carrier device. Said device comprises a plate with inlets at one side connected to respective compartments situated at respective array positions for receiving samples to be treated and analysed, each compartment being in communication with an outlet enabling fluid flow through the plate. The method comprises the steps of supplying an external container with a sample; optionally, subjecting the sample to a first treatment in the external container; transferring the sample to the combined sample treatment and sample carrier device; and subjecting the sample to a second treatment exploiting fluid flow through the device, wherein a medium is trapped in the device.

摘要: Improved ACK/NACK detection in a mobile terminal of a wireless communication system is disclosed. The ACK/NACK detection uses knowledge about the power of the acknowledgment/negative acknowledgment signal along with the probability that a DTX will occur to increase the probability that the ACK signal will be correctly detected. The probability that a DTX will occur is determined by observing the transmit power commands issued to the mobile terminal. A high number of power up commands relative to power down commands may indicate a poor quality uplink meaning that a DTX is likely to occur. This Abstract is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims.

摘要: A radio transceiver, for example a mobile station, for use in a code division multiple access (CDMA) system, estimates the signal-to-interference ratio of received signals, for use in power control of transmissions thereto. The estimation algorithm, used to estimate the signal-to-interference ratio, is altered based on the estimated relative velocity of the transceiver.
