摘要: A decorative light tile includes a base, a light source adjacent to the perimeter of the base positioned to illuminate at least a slanted light reflecting area of the base, and a cover mounted on the base adapted to be illuminated by light from the light source reflected off the slanted light reflecting area. Additionally, the light tile includes a bus bar system. The bus bar system includes positioned along a perimeter of the light tile. The bus bar system is electrically connected to the light source and provides a circuit for supplying power to the light source. A light tile system includes a plurality of light tiles, a decorative sheet positioned adjacent to each light tile and illuminated by the light source within the light tile, and a power supply. Each light tile includes a bus bar system connected to a light source within the light tile and the light tiles may be positioned contiguous to each other so that the bus bar systems are in electrical contact with each other.

摘要: An LED wedge-based lamp and method of making the lamp, where the lamp has a generally planar circuit board having one end that has electrical connections exposed thereon and a connecting part that is adapted to mechanically couple the lamp to a wedge-based lamp socket. The lamp includes an LED light engine near a second end of the circuit board, where the light engine includes plural laterally aligned LEDs whose light output mimics the light output of an incandescent lamp, such as used in automobile stop and turn signals. The lamp includes a load resistor, whose load mimics that of the incandescent lamp, on an exterior surface of the connecting part. The connecting part may be a sleeve that slides onto the circuit board. A hand grip/heat sink may be provided at the second end of the circuit board.

A central heat conductor (18) is centrally located within the hollow core (16) and is formed of a suitable heat-conducting material, such as copper. A cap (36) is fitted over a second printed circuit board (24), and a heat sink (38) is attached to the base (14) and in thermal contact with a first printed circuit board (20). The heat sink (38) has a bottom (40) with an upstanding side wall (42) terminating in a plurality of fingers (44), the fingers (44) being formed to overlie an upper surface (46) of the base (14). The heat sink (38) is preferably formed from black-anodized aluminum.

A base having passages to receive the electrical conductors extends beyond the bottom surface and includes a boss on the top surface fitted through the aperture. A body has a first part coaxial with the axis and a second part transverse to the axis. A light source is positioned near an end of the first part. The base is positioned at an opposite end of the body and a plurality of rod-like members project from the second part parallel to the axis; and a light emitting diode is positioned adjacent the first part.

The assembly has a light guide with an axis and has a first end including an input window to receive light from the LED. The input window is formed to interface with the LED. A second end includes an output window. A light transmissive body extends axially from the input window to the output window, and a housing has a support coupling to the light guide. A first wall extends from the support to a coupling face adjacent the input window, the coupling face being formed to interface with the support for the LED. A second wall extends from the support adjacent the output window and defines an output recess with the output window defining an internal end wall of the output recess. The recess is formed to receive an end of the fiber optic.

摘要: An LED light source has a housing having a base. A hollow core projects from the base and is arrayed about a longitudinal axis. A printed circuit board is positioned in the base at one end of the hollow core and has a plurality of LEDs operatively fixed thereto about the center thereof. In a preferred embodiment of the invention the hollow core is tubular and the printed circuit board is circular. A light guide with a body that, in a preferred embodiment, is cup-shaped as shown in FIGS. 2 and 4a, has a given wall thickness “T”. The light guide is positioned in the hollow core and has a first end in operative relation with the plurality of LEDs and a second end projecting beyond the hollow core. The thickness “T” is at least large enough to encompass the emitting area of the LEDs that are employed with it.
