摘要: A coating for preparing a floor underlayment to receive an adhesive includes a water-soluble, latex polymer, a defoamer and a dual-function surface enhancing agent. The surface enhancing agent includes a set accelerator that also functions to cross link the adhesive, hardening the surface of the underlayment using at least two mechanisms. One embodiment of the invention is a dry mixture that forms a coating when added to water. The dry mixture includes from about 10% to about 50% of the redispersible polymer by weight based on the mixture, from about 50% to about 90% of the surface enhancing agent and from about 0.15% to about 0.25% of the defoamer by weight based on the mixture. Other embodiments describe a liquid coating formed by adding from about 1 to about 8 pails water to 1 part of the dry mixture on a volumc basisby volume based on the mixture.

摘要: A catheter introducer includes a tube having a proximal end, a distal end and a lumen extending therethrough along a longitudinal axis of the tube for accommodating a catheter traveling along a longitudinal axis of the tube and a head portion coupled to the distal end of the tube. The head portion includes an aperture in fluid communication with the lumen at a proximal end thereof and a tip at a distal end thereof, an exterior surface extending from the proximal end thereof to an opening of the head portion along a first portion of the head portion and extending from the proximal end thereof to the tip along an opposing portion of the head portion and an interior surface extending from the aperture to the opening of the head portion along the first portion of the head portion and extending from the aperture toward the tip along the opposing portion of the head portion. The exterior surface circumferentially tapers from the proximal end to the distal end and the interior surface forms a channel for receiving a catheter passing through the lumen and the aperture, the channel being concave along at least one axis.

摘要: A fluid collection drape for use during surgery includes an impermeable liner, a permeable facing, and a substrate sandwiched between the impermeable liner and the permeable facing. The fluid collection drape is provided in a sterile condition and is sized at about 3 feet by 2.5 feet to substantially cover a width of an operating table. The substrate absorbs greater than about 500 cc of fluid. The fluid collection drape is stored in a sterile state within a package. The substrate has a thickness of about 0.05 inch.

摘要: The hair extension of the present invention includes hair strands affixed to a ring assembly. The ring assembly comprises an inner ring and an outer ring. The inner ring is configured to nest within the outer ring, with distal ends of the hair strands impinged between the inner and outer rings. A plait of a user's hair is inserted through the ring assembly of the hair extension. In one embodiment, the hair extension is attached to the plait with a band, or by sewing the hair extension to the plait. In another embodiment, the ring assembly is modified with a fastening assembly for fastening the hair extension to the plait.

摘要: An apparatus for piercing earlobes which comprises a pair of elongated, hand-held, parallel bars that can be moved towards and away from each other while an earlobe is positioned between the bars adjacent an end thereof. At that same end, one of the bars mounts an axially movable plunger to which an earlobe piercing stud can be attached. A compression spring drives the plunger and therewith the stud towards the second bar for piercing the ear. First and second levers are positioned for actuation by the same hand holding the piercing apparatus for retracting or cocking the plunger and for releasing it to pierce the earlobe. The second bar includes a recess into which a clip can be inserted which has an aperture for frictionally engaging the stud and retaining the stud to the earlobe after the latter has been pierced. The recess aligns the aperture with the axis of the plunger and a flat leaf spring is mounted to the second bar to bias the clip into the recess and retain it therein in its properly aligned position. The extent to which the two bars can be moved towards each other is adjustable.
