    Abstract: A method and apparatus for traffic modeling comprising: receiving by a server, traffic data generated by one or more devices configured to record data indicating speeds of vehicles traveling a road segment. The server separates, with a processor, the traffic data into zero speed data and non-zero speed data. The server determines, with the processor, a zero speed data characteristic value of the zero speed data. The server determines, with the processor, at least one non-zero speed data characteristic value of the non-zero speed data. The server generates, with the processor, a representative traffic value for the road segment as a function of the zero speed characteristic value and the non-zero speed characteristic value.

    Abstract: Embodiments described herein may provide a method for identifying the location of a hazard, evaluating how long that hazard is likely to be present at the location, and providing an indication of the time to live of the hazard.     Abstract: An approach is provided for providing probe data accuracy while ensuring privacy. The approach includes receiving probe path consisting of multiple points from a vehicle, wherein each probe point includes a location of the vehicle and a timestamp indicating when the location was determined by a location sensor. The approach further includes determining a vehicle identifier from among a plurality of vehicle identifiers assigned to the vehicle based on the timestamp, wherein the plurality of vehicle identifiers are applicable for assigning at different respective time slots. The approach also involves generating a hashed vehicle identifier by using a hash function on the determined vehicle identifier and the timestamp. The approach also involves reporting the probe point using the hashed vehicle identifier to identify the probe point.

    Abstract: A system, a method, and a computer program product may be provided for generating traffic congestion estimation data of one or more lanes in a region. A system may include a memory configured to store computer program code and a processor configured to execute the computer program code to obtain image data associated with the region. The processor may be configured to determine a count of one or more first movable objects in one or lanes, based on image data, calculate a lane object static capacity of the one or more lanes, based on one or more map free flow or speed limit attributes associated with the one or more lanes and generate the traffic congestion estimation data based on count of first movable objects in the one or more lanes, the moving speed of movable objects crossing multiple image frames, the lane object static capacity of lanes.
