摘要: Provided in one example herein is a three-dimensional (“3D”) printing method, comprising: (A) forming a layer comprising particles comprising a thermoplastic; (B) disposing over at least a portion of the layer a coalescent agent, which is radiation-absorbing and has a thermal decomposition temperature lower than or equal a melting temperature of the thermoplastic; (C) forming an object slice of a 3D object by exposing the coalescent agent to a radiant energy such that at least some of the coalescent agent thermally decomposes while causing at least some of the particles to fuse, wherein the object slice comprises the fused particles, and wherein the thermally decomposed coalescent agent is not radiation-absorbing; and (D) repeating (A) to (C) to form the 3D object comprising multiple object slices bound depth-wise to one another.

摘要: An ion writing unit including an ion generator and an array of electrode nozzles aligned to receive and guide generated ions. The ion writing unit convertibly operates between at least a first mode and a second mode. In the first mode, ions flow from the ion generator through selected nozzles at a first flow rate to cause image formation on an electrically biased passive e-paper spaced apart from the electrode holes. In the second mode, ions flow from the ion generator through at least some electrode nozzles at a second flow rate that does not cause image formation on the electrically biased passive e-paper.

摘要: A coating system includes a leveling element and a dispenser assembly. The leveling element extends generally transverse to a substrate advance orientation and is releasably engageable against a substrate support. The dispenser assembly includes an array of side-by-side independent liquid dispensers and an air pressure assembly to supply a common air pressure to each dispenser to cause pressurized dispensing of a coating liquid from each dispenser onto a substrate on the substrate support. The liquid dispensing occurs at least during relative movement between the dispenser assembly and the substrate support and during the relative movement, the leveling element is actuated to uniformize the coating liquid on the substrate.
