    摘要: An active matrix display device, such as an AMLCD, having sets of row and column address conductors (18, 19) connected to an array of colour picture elements (12) arranged in columns of one colour and with adjacent columns being of different colours, and drive means (21, 23, 25) for supplying selection and data signals to the sets of address conductors uses a plurality of serial charge redistribution digital to analogue conversion means (30) to convert multi-bit digital data signals supplied to the column address conductors (19) into analogue voltage levels for use by the picture elements. Each conversion means uses the capacitances of two column conductors between which charge is shared by conversion switches (31). The two column conductors associated with a conversion means are selected to be column conductors associated with picture elements columns of the same colour, preferably adjacent column conductors associated with the same colour. This leads to reduced conversion errors and consequential unwanted display artefacts.

    摘要: An active matrix array device has driver circuitry for providing address signals to the matrix elements and which includes digital to analogue converter circuitry. The driver circuitry is arranged alongside one edge of the array of matrix elements, and comprises a multiple voltage level generator circuit providing a plurality of analogue voltage levels for addressing the matrix elements, with the plurality of levels being provided on outputs distributed substantially along the length of the one edge. A group of switches is associated with, and located at, each output of the voltage level generator circuit and provides signals to an output bus arranged alongside the one edge and having the first number of lines. This architecture enables a reference voltage bus line to be removed by interleaving the voltage selection switches.

An antenna system that includes a first reflective surface, a second reflective surface, and an intercostal ring is provided. The intercostal ring is configured to connect the first reflective surface and the second reflective surface. A baffle is disposed between the intercostal ring and a path of the electromagnetic waves. The baffle is configured to redirect the electromagnetic waves away from the intercostal ring. Alternatively, the baffle is not present, and the intercostal ring is configured to redirect a perturbed portion of an electromagnetic wave away from wave paths of electromagnetic waves reflected by the first reflective surface and the second reflective surface, respectively.

    摘要: An active matrix liquid crystal display device has an array of picture elements (12), each comprising a picture element electrode (14) and a switching device (16), addressed by crossing sets of selection (row) and data (column) address conductors (18,20), and a set of supplementary connection lines (30) extending in the direction of the data address conductors (20) and connected to respective ones of the row address conductors (18) enabling addressing of the array from one side or opposed sides. Each picture element includes a storage capacitor (22) connected to its picture element electrode and a capacitor line (40) shared by picture elements in the same row. The selection conductor of one row of picture elements is coupled to a respective capacitor line associated with a different row, for example via a connection line (45) at their ends, whereby each connection line is connected to a respective selection conductor for the row of picture elements and the capacitor line for another row coupled thereto. In addition to enabling unwanted display artefacts caused by spurious parasitic capacitances to be avoided, the arrangement also allows capacitively coupled drive schemes to be employed with the necessary drive signals being supplied through the connection lines.
