摘要: In an image decoder, anticipated battery energy to be consumed is obtained from consumed battery energy when motion picture data is played for a predetermined time. In case the anticipated battery energy to be consumed is more than a current remaining battery energy, a playing quality is deteriorated to play the motion picture data to the last. Further, the playing quality of the motion picture data is dynamically controlled on the basis of the number of frames that can be displayed during a unit time. Thus, in case there is enough power for processing in a CPU, the playing quality of the motion picture data is improved. In case there is not enough power for processing in the CPU, the playing quality of the motion picture data is deteriorated to complete a decoding process within the unit time. Thus, the playing quality of the motion picture data is dynamically controlled in accordance with the CPU frequency or the remaining battery time.

摘要: An information processing apparatus includes a device that performs data processing; and processors, each processor including a device driver corresponding to the device. A device driver set in correspondence with at least one processor has a resource-state holding unit that manages a resource flag indicating which processor is using or is scheduled to use resources used at the time of data processing using the device. At least one processor sets the resource flag to a flag value indicating that at least one processor is scheduled to use the resources in accordance with a schedule of at least one processor to use the device. At least one processor terminates or interrupts use of the device when at least one processor refers to the resource flag and recognizes that another processor is scheduled to use the resources during a period in which at least one processor is using the device.

摘要: The present invention relates to an information processing apparatus, an information processing method and a program for simplifying an interrupt process to reduce time needed for the interrupt process. If it is determined in step S52 that a network card pointer and a CPU clear pointer fail to match each other, i.e., that there is a packet area corresponding to a packet used in an executed DMA transfer process and having not undergone a DMA transfer complete process, processing proceeds to step S53. An interrupt generator sets a completion status as an interrupt status and proceeds to step S54. In step S54, the interrupt generator generates an interrupt signal. If it is determined in step S52 that there is not a packet area corresponding to a packet used in an executed DMA transfer process and having not undergone a DMA transfer complete process, processing proceeds to step S55. The interrupt generator clears the completion status. The present invention is applicable to a network card, for example.

摘要: A transmission and reception system includes a transmission apparatus for transmitting content and a reception apparatus for receiving the content. The transmission apparatus includes a coding section that codes the content into hierarchy codes and outputs coded data of a plurality of layers, a packet generation section that generates packets including the coded data and a timestamp and outputs packets from low-level information of the coded data, and a transmission section that transmits the packets. The reception system includes a reception section that receives the packets, a holding section that holds the packets, a writing control section that controls the writing of the packets, and a determination section that determines whether there is packet loss in the packets. When there is packet loss, the writing control section writes the packets received up to a time of packet loss based on a timestamp in the packets.

摘要: A transmission timing deciding unit decides the transmission timing for packet data based on time information from a time control unit and flow information from a flow information managing unit. At the decided timing, a packet transmitting unit transmits packet data at the head of the packet queue in the event that the accumulated capacity of a token exceeds zero, and further transmits best-effort flow packets in the event that predetermined conditions are satisfied. Thus, a communication apparatus and communication method can be provided wherein, in the event that a single network interface is shared by multiple flows, coexistence with best-effort flows can be realized while maintaining the reserved bandwidth for each flow so as to avoid collision of transmission requests from the flows.
