Abstract:
A system and a method of providing electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) protection. A removable component is inserted into an end product. The removable component includes a retractable EMC protection apparatus. In response to the insertion of the removable component a shape memory alloy on the EMC protection apparatus is heated to a temperature above the activation temperature of the shape memory alloy. The shape memory alloy then changes from a first shape to a second shape in response to the heating. In response to the change in the shape of the shape memory alloy an EMC protection component of the EMC protection apparatus is inserted into an enclosure opening of the removable component.

The method includes providing a polyol blend that includes a polyol resin and an electromagnetic (EMA) additive, providing an isocyanate resin selected such that blending the isocyanate resin with the polyol blend results in an EMA spray foam. The device includes a first compartment containing an isocyanate resin and a second compartment containing a polyol blend, which includes a polyol resin and an EMA additive. The composition includes a polyurethane spray foam and an EMA additive blended into the polyurethane spray foam.
Abstract:
Embodiments herein describe a variable inductor containing a capillary. The capillary includes an eutectic conductive liquid (e.g., EGaIn) containing suspended magnetic particles and an electrolyte (e.g., NaOH). In one embodiment, the variable inductor has a pair of electrodes (e.g., negative and positive electrodes) at the respective ends of the capillary to seal the eutectic conductive liquid and the electrolyte. The variable inductor also includes an inductor coil disposed around the capillary, and the inductor coil is connected to a circuit and provides inductance for the connected circuit. Using a DC voltage between the pair of electrodes, the eutectic conductive liquid can extend inside the capillary, which in turn, causes the variable inductor to have a desired inductance.
Abstract:
In an approach for providing dynamic services a computer receives a dietary plan for an individual. The computer tracks physical activity data for the individual. The computer creates one or more propositions for the individual based at least in part on the received dietary plan and the tracked physical activity data. The computer provides the created one or more propositions to the individual. The computer receives a selection from the created one or more propositions. The computer tracks the received selection.
Abstract:
Disclosed aspects include initiating an electronic communication configured to be transmitted to a first intended recipient. Based on a set of profile data, a first cultural indicator may be identified for the first intended recipient. Using a natural language processing technique, a cultural element of the electronic communication may be detected. Based on both the first cultural indicator and the cultural element, a first cultural-version of the cultural element may be determined for the first intended recipient. Using the first cultural-version, a cultural translation object may be established in the electronic communication. In response to establishing the cultural translation object in the electronic communication, the electronic communication may be transmitted to the first intended recipient.
Abstract:
A method for managing data communication traffic in a network routing device includes monitoring a bandwidth utilization of the network routing device and determining whether the bandwidth utilization exceeds a threshold. The method may additionally include receiving a first signal, the first signal having a first bandwidth, the first signal further having stream of packets. A second signal may be generated based on determining that the bandwidth utilization exceeds the threshold. The second signal may include the stream of packets. The second signal may additionally have a second bandwidth, where the second bandwidth is larger than the first bandwidth. The method may be continued by routing the second signal along a loopback path external to the network routing device. The method may then include extracting, based on determining that the bandwidth utilization is at or below the threshold, the stream of packets from the second signal for processing.

Abstract:
An apparatus has a permittivity attenuation layer interposed between a substrate and a first conductive trace, wherein the permittivity attenuation layer comprises a resin matrix containing functionalized carbon nanomaterial, such as functionalized single-wall carbon nanotubes (f-SWNTs). In some embodiments, a design structure for designing, manufacturing, or testing the apparatus is tangibly embodied in a machine readable medium. In some embodiments, the apparatus comprises an enhanced laminate core for use in a printed wiring board (PWB) that contains a differential pair having an inner-leg conductive trace and an outer-leg conductive trace. A permittivity attenuation layer is interposed between the inner-leg conductive trace and a laminate core, wherein the loading level of f-SWNTs in the permittivity attenuation layer is selected to attenuate the permittivity of the inner-leg conductive trace to match the permittivity of the outer-leg conductive trace.
Abstract:
In an approach for interpreting one or more astronomical events and activating a network of telescopes for optimized observation of the one or more astronomical events, a processor monitors for a set of published content regarding the one or more astronomical events. Responsive to detecting the set of published content, a processor extracts, interprets, and correlates the set of published content to identify an area in space related to the one or more astronomical events for observation. A processor implements a monitoring system, wherein the monitoring system includes one or more registered telescopes of a network of telescopes to autonomously observe the area. A processor signals the one or more registered telescopes to capture an image of the one or more astronomical events. Responsive to the one or more registered telescopes capturing the image, a processor classifies one or more objects in the image. A processor publishes the image.
Abstract:
A method for detecting information breach in a computer system. The method comprises: detecting a radio frequency signal in an area of the computer system. A set of samples of the radio frequency signal may be input to a machine learning model. An output of the machine learning model may be received. The output indicates whether the detected radio frequency signal is anomalous. An alarm signal may be generated in case the detected radio frequency signal is predicted as an anomalous signal.
