摘要: Disclosed is a novel rubber composition for the treads of high-performance tires including racing tires. The elastomer component of the rubber composition consists essentially of 10-60 wt % of a low molecular weight copolymer of an aliphatic diene, e.g. butadiene, and an aromatic vinyl compound, e.g. styrene, and the balance of a conventional diene rubber such as a high styrene styrene-butadiene rubber. The copolymer is the product of solution copolymerization reaction of the aliphatic and aromatic monomers in a hydrocarbon solvent using an organic lithium compound as the initiator, and the molecular weight of the copolymer is from about 2000 to about 50000. The rubber composition provides very high road gripping ability and is sufficiently high also in rupture strength, heat resistance and wear resistance.

摘要: A branched styrene-butadiene copolymer and a pneumatic tire using the same as a tread base rubber are disclosed. This copolymer is produced by coupling an active styrene-butadiene copolymer anion, which is obtained by polymerizing styrene and butadiene in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of ether or a tertiary amine and an initiator of an organolithium compound, with a tin halide compound. In the copolymer, the ratio of branched copolymer connected with tin-butadienyl bond is at least 20% by weight, and the content of bound styrene is not less than 3% by weight but less than 25% by weight, and the content of vinyl bond in butadiene portion is not less than 30% but less than 50%.

摘要: A semiconductor laser device includes a semiconductor substrate on which a semiconductor thin film including an active layer is lamineted, a pair of electrodes respectively provided on opposite faces of the substrate, a light emitting surface defined on a side face of the substrate to which the active layer and an edge of at least one of the electrodes are exposed, and a protective film covering the light emitting surface. The protective film has a smaller thickness on the edge of the electrode than on the active layer. This arrangement makes it possible to suppress diffusion of an electrode material in the protective film and sufficiently protect the light emitting surface.
