Input image data is wavelet-transformed into wavelet transformed data. First, second and third quantization values respectively corresponding to the frequency variation, background brightness and edge state of the wavelet transformed data are determined. The wavelet transformed data is quantized by using a human visual quantization value for each region corresponding to the first, second and third quantization values. The quantized data is entropy-encoded to generate compressed image data.

An air conditioning system, which can automatically remove a malodor generated due to condensate water remaining in an evaporator during a predetermined period of time after operation of an air conditioner or turning-off of the air conditioner and control a filtering mode time of a filter to filter an air. The air conditioning system characteristically comprises a shiftable deodorization filter (30 or 40) located on a flow channel of the cool air passageway and operationally moved to a filtering mode position so as to screen the flow channel of the cool air passageway during a predetermined period of time after an air conditioner is turned on or off, whereby the air passing through the cool air passageway C and a malodor contained in the air are filtered.

A method for controlling a multi-sink/multi-path routing sensor network and a sensor network system using the same are provided. The method for controlling the sensor network includes generating, at a sensor node, sensing data; transmitting, at the sensor node, the sensing data to a plurality of sink nodes; and forwarding, at the sink nodes receiving the sensing data from the sensor node, the sensing data to a gateway. Hence, it is possible to satisfy the reliability required in the safety-critical system with the minimum traffic. Both of the two conflicting requirements which are the reliability enhancement of the sensor network and the minimization of the network traffic in the repeated data transmission, can be satisfied adequately.

The plurality of memory cells are connected in series. Provided are a location awareness apparatus using a camera and a method thereof. The apparatus includes: an image capturing unit for photographing a position identification tag using a camera; a distance measuring unit for measuring a distance to a position identification tag; an incident angle measuring unit for measuring a photographing angle at a visual point; an image analyzing unit for reading the photographed image from the image capturing unit, and requesting location information corresponding to the read information to a position recognition server; and a location awareness unit for estimating a current location using the distance to the position identification tag, the photographing angle of the position identification tag, and the location information corresponding to the read information by the image analyzing unit.
