Automatic document classification using machine learning may involve receiving inputs that assign documents to classifiers, which define document classification rules for a classification model. The computing device may train the classification model using a machine learning technique that assigns each document of a second set of documents to destinations based on the document classification rules. The computing device may also receive a template design for each destination that specifies metadata to extract for a document type corresponding to documents assigned to the destination. The computing device may subsequently classifying a particular document using the classification model, which may involve assigning the particular document to a given destination of the plurality of destinations based on the document classification rules, and exporting metadata from the particular document using the template design associated with the given destination.

Provided is an image forming system that is capable of displaying an accurate preview image in pull output. A document-data-receiving unit of a server receives document data from a terminal. A data-type-determining unit determines whether received document data is direct-output data or pull-output data. A document-data-retransmitting unit, when document data is determined to be direct-output data, transmits the document data as is to an image forming apparatus. A model-information-acquiring unit, when document data is determined to be pull-output data, acquires model information from the image forming apparatus. A preview-creating unit performs rasterization of the document data according to the model information, and creates preview data. A preview-transmitting unit transmits preview data that is created by the preview-creating unit to the image forming apparatus.

The management server authenticates the user on the basis of the authentication request using the user name and the password received from the image forming apparatus, generates user session information obtained in a process of the user authentication process, stores the user session information in association with the IP address of the image forming apparatus in the third memory, and supplies the user session information in response to an inquiry using the IP address from the third party server. The third party server receives the authentication request using the IP address from the image forming apparatus, makes an inquiry to the management server by using the IP address, and authenticates the user on the basis of the returned user session information.

The document-management server, in the case where there is an access request from a user for document data, allows access to the document data based on the security setting by not masking metadata for which there is access authority, and masking metadata for which there is no access authority.
