摘要: Methods and devices are described pertaining to graphical user interfaces that enable users to manage and play their media content on a portable electronic device. For example, a method is described in which a first source icon associated with a first set of media selections is displayed and a second source icon associated with a second set of media selections is also displayed. In addition, a first function icon indicative of a first function is superimposed on the first source icon, and a second function icon indicative of a second function is superimposed on the second source icon. A selection input associated with either of the first source icon or the second source icon is received and the first function is executed when the selection input is associated with the first icon, and the second function is executed when the selection input is associated with the second icon.

摘要: The subject invention concerns materials and methods for detecting nucleic acid sequences. One aspect of the invention concerns a silicon-based “biochip” comprising nucleic acid immobilized thereon. In one embodiment, the silicon comprises microcavities. The nucleic acid to be assayed for the presence of one or more target nucleic acid sequences is immobilized on the silicon. A nucleic acid, such as an oligonucleotide probe, having a sequence substantially complementary to the target nucleic acid sequence can be used to detect the immobilized nucleic acid on the silicon. If the nucleic acid used for detection hybridizes with a target nucleic acid sequence, the hybridized sequences can be detected directly or indirectly. In an exemplified embodiment, the oligonucleotide probe can be labeled with a detectable label, for example, a fluorescent molecule. The subject invention also concerns methods for detecting a target nucleic acid using a silicon-based biochip of the invention.

摘要: Functionalized Single Wall Carbon Nanotube (SWCNT) complexed with nanochitosan for use in the delivery of bioaffecting substances and diagnostic applications. fSWCNT complexed with the chitosan NG042 were used for delivery of DNA-encoding EGFP reporter protein and peptide. The results demonstrate that shown CNT-chitosan hybrid nanoparticles exhibit significantly higher transfection efficiency in vivo than chitosan alone. Furthermore, the functionalized nanotubes were tested for peptide transfer into HEK293 cells. The results showed that the hybrid nanoparticles efficiently transferred peptides. Together, these results show that hybrid SWCNT-chitosan particles increase DNA and peptide transfer into cells.

摘要: Apparatus, methods and computer programs provided for metering and accounting in a commercial e-services infrastructure address the requirement for handling composite services in which higher-level services are built using simpler underlying services, each of which may be autonomously owned and operated. Metering records for each service underlying a composite service are correlated by a process associated with the composite service, and then sent to an accounting service where they can be aggregated. The correlation is performed in a distributed manner with correlated usage data provided on a per-request basis. Accounting services can take account of the usage and charges associated with the underlying services to provide accounting and billing on a per-request basis or per customer-provider pair for a billing period.

摘要: A polymer based enzyme electrode useful for estimation for cholesterol is disclosed. The electrode has an ion-doped layer to increase the conductivity of the poly pyrrole layer. The ion doping is achieved by incorporating dodecyl benzene sulphonate (DBS) in the poly pyrrole film deposited by electrochemical deposition The enhanced conductivity due to ion doping helps in faster estimation of cholesterol having a measured response time of 30 seconds. The shelf life of the electrode is at least eight weeks without a mediator at room temperature.
