    摘要: Homo- and copolymers of monomers obtained by acylation of 2-[4-hydroxy(or amino)phenyl]-2-[5-(8-hydroxyquinolyl)]-propane with .alpha.,.beta.-monoolefinically unsaturated carboxylic acid halides or - anhydrides. As comonomers can be employed compounds containing one or more .alpha.,.beta.-olefinically unsaturated groups such as olefines, diolefines, acrylic acid derivatives, vinyl monomers. The polymers having molecular weights between 5000 - 500,000 can be prepared by radical or ionic chain mechanisms, in continuous or discontinuous processes. They may be used for removing metal ions from their solution, for complexing of interfering metallic impurities in thermoplastic or thermosetting resins or in form of their metal complexes as stabilizers for plastics.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a process for the preparation of a composition containing an isocyanurate polyisocyanate dissolved in a solvent inert to isocyanate groups bya) reacting 2.5 to 7% of the isocyanate groups of a starting diisocyanate based on 2,4-diisocyanatotoluene or a mixture of 2,4-diisocyanatotoluene and 2,6-diisocyanatotoluene with a monohydric alcohol corresponding to the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is an aliphatic or cycloaliphatic C.sub.6-18 hydrocarbon radical which may be olefinically unsaturated,R.sub.2 is hydrogen or a methyl group, andn is 0 or an integer from 1 to 3,b) adding a sufficient amount of an organic solvent which is inert to isocyanate groups to form a 30 to 70% solution of the urethanized diisocyanate either before, during or after step a),c) subsequently partially trimerizing the remaining isocyanate groups of said urethanized diisocyanate in the presence of a catalyst which accelerates the trimerization of isocyanate groups andd) terminating the trimerization reaction when the content of unreacted diisocyanotoluene is less than 0.5% by weight by the addition of a catalyst poison.The present invention also relates to the solutions of isocyanurate polyisocyanates obtained by this process.

    摘要: (Meth)acrylic acid esters can be prepared by acid-catalyzed reaction of (meth)acrylic acid with alcohols in a water-immiscible solvent. After the esterification, the reaction mixture is washed with aqueous solutions having an alkaline reaction and then reacted at elevated temperature with carbodiimides. Acid numbers below 0.5 (mg of KOH/g of substance) are obtained in this way. (Meth)acrylic acid esters are used, for example, as reactive diluents or as comonomers.

    摘要: Thermoplastic molding compositions are provided comprising from about 80 to 98% by weight of a polycarbonate obtained from diphenols, having a mean weight-average molecular weight M.sub.w from about 10,000 to 200,000 and from about 20 to 2% by weight of a polyester-carbonate and/or polyether-carbonate with mean weight-average molecular weights M.sub.w of from about 50,000 to 300,000, which contain between about 50 and 70% by weight of soft polyester segments or soft polyether segments with mean number-average molecular weights M.sub.n of from about 10,000 to 20,000. The instant invention also relates to a process for the production of said thermoplastic molding compositions. These thermoplastic molding compositions show markedly improved resilience properties compared with known polycarbonates and can be employed as films and shaped articles in all cases where, on the one hand, high notched impact strength at low temperatures, high toughness properties at relatively high wall thicknesses, and transparency are required.
