摘要: A medical kit and method for treating an ailment, such as chronic pain is provided. The kit comprises first and second medical leads, e.g., stimulation leads. Each lead comprises an elongated body and at least one operative element. The first medical lead comprises a coupling mechanism, such as a slot, and the second medical lead comprises a complementary mechanism, such as a rail, that slidably engages the coupling mechanism of the first medical lead. The method may comprise delivering the first medical lead into a patient's body, e.g., into the epidural space of the patient, and delivering the second medical lead into the patient's body by sliding the complementary coupling mechanism of the second medical lead along the coupling mechanism of the first medical lead.

摘要: The present invention is directed to systems for occluding an aneurysm having an aneurysmal neck and an aneurysmal inner wall. Generally, a device in accordance with the present invention includes a mesh-like structure that is integrally composed of a shape-memory alloy such as NiTi. The device is deployed within the aneurysm through the aneurysmal neck. The device is configured to be in a deployed state and an undeployed state, and is configured to transition from the undeployed state to the deployed state by exposure to a higher temperature and/or by being unconstrained. The device may function to retain finer vaso-occlusive devices such as vaso-occlusive coils and/or embolic liquids. Furthermore, the device itself may function as a vaso-occlusive device.

摘要: Embodiments of an electronic instrument simulating a percussion instrument using capacitive touch sensitive sensors are described herein. Embodiments described comprise an art layer, a sensor layer, a shielding layer, an electronics package and a speaker. The art layer has depictions of one or more percussion instruments. The sensor layer is deposed under the art layer. The sensor layer has one or more instrument sensors, each comprising one or more capacitive touch sensors. Instrument sensors are positioned underneath one of the depicted percussion instruments in the art layer so that a finger tapping the depicted instrument will trigger the sensor. The capacitive touch sensors are electrically connected to the electronics package configured to detect changes in capacitance when a particular capacitive touch sensor is touched, causing the electronics package to play on the speaker a sound sample of an percussion instrument associated with that capacitive touch sensor.

摘要: This invention comprises USY zeolite prepared by treating a USY zeolite under hydrothermal conditions after forming the USY zeolite from heat treating ammonium exchanged zeolite Y, e g, by calcination. When this invention is used in a FCC catalyst, a significant improvement of activity and selectivity in the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) performance is observed, compared to FCC catalysts containing conventional USY zeolite. The process used to make the invention is efficient and comprises treating the USY zeolite in an exchange bath under the aforementioned hydrothermal conditions. The surface of the resulting USY zeolite has a molar ratio of alumina to silica that is higher than that seen in the bulk USY zeolite and has a unique structure as viewed by SEM and TEM.
