    摘要: The present invention relates to a polyether carbonate polyol made by copolymerizing a starter molecule with carbon dioxide, at a pressure ranging from about 10 psia to about 2,000 psia, and an alkylene oxide, at a temperature ranging from about 50° C. to about 190° C. and in the presence of from about 0.001 wt. % to about 0.2 wt. % of a substantially non-crystalline double metal cyanide (DMC) catalyst, wherein the polyol has an incorporated carbon dioxide content of from about 1 wt. % to about 40 wt. %, wherein the ratio of cyclic carbonate by-product to total carbonate is less than about 0.3 and wherein the weight percentages are based on the weight of the polyol. The inventive polyether carbonate polyols may find use in producing polyurethane foams, elastomers, coatings, sealants and adhesives with improved properties.

    摘要: The present invention relates to polyol compositions which can be used to produce dimensionally stable, low density water-blown rigid foams which have acceptable compressive strengths and acceptable k-factors. In one embodiment of the present invention, the polyol compositions are composed of at least one aromatic amine-initiated polyether polyol and at least one polyether polyol having a functionality greater than or equal to 2.5 in which at least 50% by weight of the polyol composition is aromatic amine-initiated polyether polyol and in which no more than 50% by weight of the polyol composition is polyether polyol having a functionality greater than or equal to 2.5.In another embodiment of the present invention, the polyol compositions are composed of at least one aromatic amine-initiated polyether polyol and at least one polyester polyol in which at least 30% by weight of the polyol composition is aromatic amine-initiated polyether polyol and in which no more than 70% by weight of the polyol composition is polyester polyol.

    摘要: This invention relates to a process for the production of an optically clear, light-stable polyurethane-urea elastomer having an onset softening point of at least 130° C., processed at ambient temperature and casted in a mold at an isocyanate index of 95 to 120. This process comprises reacting: A) a liquid polyisocyanate or polyisocyanate prepolymer having an NCO group content of about 5 to about 50%, an average functionality of 2 to 3, a viscosity of less than 5,000 mPa.s at 25° C.; and B) an isocyanate-reactive component; in the presence of C) at least one organometallic catalyst. The present invention also relates to the optically clear, light-stable polyurethane-urea elastomers produced by this process.
