摘要: Update data to a non-volatile memory may be recorded in at least two interleaving streams such as either into an update block or a scratch pad block depending on a predetermined condition. The scratch pad block is used to buffered update data that are ultimately destined for the update block. In a preferred embodiment, an index of the data stored in the scratch pad block as well that stored in the update block is saved in an unused portion of the scratch pad block every time the scratch pad block is written to.

摘要: A label switching routing protocol for establishing a datapath as a sequence of locally unique labels in an optical communications network, is provided. A wavelength on an optical cross-connect is considered as a label, or one portion of a label. Timeslots may be assigned to designated wavelengths so as to form the second portion of a composite label. An optical/time cross-connect (OTXC) capable of wavelength conversion from an input to an output interface creates the datapath based on wavelength to wavelength substitution, under the control of a multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) protocol.

摘要: Techniques for managing data in a non-volatile memory system (e.g., Flash Memory) are disclosed. A controller can use information relating to a host's file system, which is stored by the host on non-volatile memory, to determine if one or more clusters (or sectors with clusters) are currently allocated. The controller can use the information relating to the host's file system to identify when the host is sending data to the next free cluster and to store such data in a sequential format by copying data from other locations in the non-volatile memory.

摘要: A carrier that houses an external cable terminated at a male cable connector that mates with a female midplane connector on a midplane in a server blade computer is presented. The carrier includes side channel guides that align the carrier with the female midplane connector for a precise mating with the male cable connector. A light channel in the carrier captures light from a status light emitting diode (LED) at the midplane, and transmits that light to an externally visible end of the carrier.

摘要: The invention here relates to a product comprised of a cell line or lines intended for use as an allogeneic immunotherapy agent for the treatment of cancer in mammals and humans. All of the studies of cell-based cancer vaccines to date have one feature in common, namely the intention to use cells that contain at least some TSAs and/or TAAs that are shared with the antigens present in patients' tumour. In each case, tumour cells are utilised as the starting point on the premise that only rumour cells will contain TSAs or TAAs of relevance, and the tissue origins of the cells are matched to the tumour site in patients. A primary aspect of the invention is the use of immortalised normal, non-malignant cells as the basis of an allogeneic cell cancer vaccine. Normal cells do not possess TSAs or relevant concentrations of TAAs and hence it is surprising that normal cells are effective as anti-cancer vaccines. For prostate cancer, for example, a vaccine may be based on one or a combination of different immortalised normal cell lines derived from the prostate. The cell lines are lethally irradiated utilising gamma irradiation at 50-300 Gy to ensure that they are replication incompetent prior to use in the mammal or human.

摘要: A system and method for the installation of prefabricated composite structural members is disclosed. The system utilizes deck panels which have a plurality of structural member pairs attached to the underside such that a series of channels are formed. Bored through each deck panel is a plurality of access holes that project through the panel and into one of said channels. Thus, installers can access underlying bridge girders from the surface of the deck panels thereby allowing for top-side installation. The system also provides a top-side vertically adjusting device for raising or lowering the deck panels to allow for the top-side installation of shimming devices.

摘要: In a betting shop terminal, a betting slip is inserted into a slot, and pressed against a glass plate by means of a hinged plate. A CCD camera generates an electrical image of the betting slip, and stores it in a memory. A thermal printer generates a hard copy of the image of the betting slip, from the stored electrical image signal, together with additional information, to form a receipt for the customer. The additional information comprises a unique serial number, the amount of the stake, and optionally the time of the bet. This information is stored also in the memory, together with the electrical image. The bet can be fully entered at a later time, subsequent to the transaction, by a settler, using the terminal or an alternative terminal. Winning bets are automatically calculated from the entered information and race information received from a remote station. A plurality of such terminals intercommunicate to process shared data. A remote station can receive data relating to bets taken etc., from the terminal over a communication link.

摘要: A spacecraft has, in addition to redundant thrusters T3, T4 prime thrusters T1 or T2 arranged to be operated one at a time which are supplied with propellant 1 via valves V1 and V2. The thrusters are of the kind in which energy is transferred to the propellant by employing electrodes which create a current flow path through the propellant gas. A single power supply PSU1 provides power to several electrically-powered thrusters. It is connected such that when actuated all the thrusters to which it is connected become charged. However, only the thruster which receives propellant is able to carry current as the propellant forms part of the current carrying circuit, and this thruster therefore draws power. This technique allows the use of a single power supply for several thrusters while eliminating or minimizing the necessity to switch power from one thruster to another.
