Abstract:
Embodiments generally relate to data transmission in a computing system. The present technology discloses techniques that that can enable a high-bandwidth and low-latency data transmission using PCIe (Peripheral Component Interconnect Express) technology. According to some embodiments, by utilizing the PCIe protocol, the present technology can achieve high-speed data transmission for intra-rack network trafficking.
Abstract:
This disclosure generally relate to remote booting of a computing system. The present technology relates techniques that can enable deploying boot parameters to one or more booting servers in a scalable and autonomous approach. A service controller can receive and transmit a boot sequence and/or boot configuration to other computing components, such as a BIOS or a host bus adapter. The service controller can transmit boot information by a system interface called a keyboard controller style interface.
Abstract:
Embodiments generally relate to remote computer network management. The present technology discloses techniques that can enable a high-bandwidth server management method by applying VLAN (Virtual Local Area Network). It employs an optimized RMCP protocol using a dual-pathway VLAN mechanism for data transmission either internal or external to a server rack. The present technology may enable a network computing device to perform the optimized RMCP protocol.
Abstract:
A system and method for efficiently allocating device resources is disclosed. A composer application is executed by a management controller. A fabric box includes fabric switches and a fabric controller. A network is coupled to the management controller and the fabric box. Host servers are each coupled to an upstream port of one of the fabric switches. Multiple device resources are coupled to downstream ports of the fabric switches. The fabric controller determines the path distances between each of the downstream ports and each of the upstream ports. The composer application selects a device based on the shortest path distance to a requested host server in response to an allocation command.
Abstract:
What is disclosed is a system and method to automatically configure the fanout modes of ports of a switch in a network system. The network node coupled to the port of the network switch is discovered. A plurality of fanout modes for the port is determined. The port is configured with one of the plurality of fanout modes. The system may also use neighboring ports to determine the maximum speed of a network interface card of the network node.
Abstract:
Various examples of the present technology provide a cluster-architecture to support a scalable pooled-NVMe storage box that can be shared among a scalable number of nodes. The scalable pooled-NVMe storage box comprises NVMe drives, one or more switches and one or more switch ports. The number of NVMe drives in the scalable scalable-pooled-NVMe storage box can be scaled up or down based upon a number of nodes that need to share the scalable pooled-NVMe storage box.
Abstract:
A system for managing server switches includes a plurality of leaf switches, a plurality of spine switches connected to each of the plurality of leaf switches, and a switch manager. The switch manager is connected to the plurality of leaf switches and the plurality of spine switches, and is configured to provide an individual controller as a virtual machine for each leaf switch and for each spine switch.
Abstract:
Systems, methods, and computer-readable storage media for automatic hardware recovery. In some examples, a system can receive a notification of a device failure of a peripheral component interconnect express device associated a node. The system can also receive a first request to disconnect a link between the peripheral component interconnect express device and the node, and a second request to connect, after disconnecting the link, a replacement peripheral component interconnect express device with the node. The system can then reconfigure a peripheral component interconnect express switch fabric to disconnect the link between the peripheral component interconnect express device and the node, and connect the replacement peripheral component interconnect express device with the node.
Abstract:
Embodiments generally relate to hot-plug technology. The present technology discloses hardware and software specifications that can enable hot-plug functions for high-bandwidth and low-latency data transmission within a computing system. The present technology can provide hot-plug functions to PICe devices within a server rack by utilizing various controllers and power indicators embedded in the system. In addition to PCIe, the present technology can provide hot-plug functions to other high-throughput computer I/O (Input/Output) expansion technologies.
