摘要： The present invention relates to a system and method for providing a communication network. The system comprises a ‘network-connected server having input and access capabilities, a site builder, a transmitter, a communicator, and memory. The site-builder receives instructions input from a first user and creates a dedicated network site based on the received instructions. The transmitter communicates the existence of the dedicated network site to a nominated second user. The communicator provides accesses to the contents of the dedicated network site by the first and second users. The memory stores information input by the first and the second user in the dedicated network site.

摘要： A system and method for dynamically optimizing occupied bandwidth of a direct modulated FM radio comprises a remote receiver that periodically monitors the received output of a local transmitter and compares the received output occupied bandwidth to a reference level. If the monitored level of the demodulated signal unacceptably exceeds the reference level an error message is developed and sent back to the local transmitter to cause the output of the local transmitter to be adjusted to more closely conform to the desired spectrum output mask. An alternative embodiment is also disclosed in which temperature and operating frequency are monitored at the local transmitter and a correction factor appropriate for that operating temperature and frequency are applied.

摘要： A fastening device for a heat sink comprises a retaining element and an operating element. The retaining element is formed by stamping an elongated metal sheet and includes a spring portion which has a bifurcating portion extending from one end and a first latching arm depending perpendicularly from an opposite end. The bifurcating portion includes a pair of arms and an arcuate strip bending substantially upward and extending from between the arms. A pivot outwardly projects from the flank of the end of each arm of the bifurcating portion. The operating element is formed by stamping an elongated metal sheet and includes a second latching arm and a manual operating portion which are perpendicular to each other. A pair of pivoting sections each defining a pivot opening extends perpendicular to and from substantially the middle of opposite edges of the second latching arm of the operating element. A first latch opening is defined adjacent to the free end of the first latching arm of the retaining element and a second latch opening is defined adjacent to the free end of the second latching arm of the operating element, each latching a tab on an opposite side of a socket when used to fasten a heat sink to a CPU and socket.

摘要： A geothermal wellhead repair unit including a mechanically set packer to isolate the wellhead for removal and repair thereof. The packer is run into the well string using a running tool. The packer is set by placing tension on the mandrel to set the packing elements and the slip assembly. Once the packer is set, the running tool can be disengaged without fear of collapsing the packer and the wellhead removed for repair or replacement. Upon replacement of the wellhead, the running tool is used to unset and retrieve the packer.

摘要： A method and apparatus for an adaptive search user interface is provided. An interface is provided that returns search results upon receiving each alphanumeric character of a search query term. Correlations of prefixes of alphanumeric characters and search results selected from previous searches are stored in a correlation matrix. Based upon the correlations in the correlation matrix, relevance rankings for search results with respect to the prefixes of alphanumeric characters are updated. Search results may be grouped based upon one or more common traits. Relevance rankings are also updated based upon the rate of change of selections recorded for a search result.

摘要： A portable hoist provides motorized hoisting and coincidental skinning of game animals. The hoist is preferably secured to an existing motor vehicle and is made using an adaptable segmented frame. A top frame portion includes an electric cable winch and may rotate to any orientation to position a hanging animal carcass where desired. A base portion of the hoist includes a pair of clamps which grip a hide portion of the animal. The winch is then used to simultaneously hoist and remove the hide of the animal.

摘要： A method for generating and maintaining hierarchical tags with community-based ratings is provided. Tags for media streams are organized into a hierarchical format. Users may select tags from the hierarchical tag database that describes a particular multimedia content. If the user is unable to locate a desired tag, the user may submit a new tag. Upon submission of the new tag, a librarian approves the tag before storing and placing the tag in the hierarchical tag database. Users are also able to rate the quality of the association between the tag and the multimedia content. If a tag is rated low, the tag may be removed from the hierarchical tag database. If the tag is rated highly, display of the tag in a list of tags becomes more prominent.
