    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments disclosed herein relate to wireless communication networks, and more particularly to managing PDU sessions in wireless communication networks. The method maintains by a user equipment (UE), a count value for the maximum number of PDU sessions for a first access and a second access on a first network entity (NE). The UE sends a PDU session establishment request when a number of active PDU sessions is lower than the count value for the maximum number of PDU sessions or an established PDU session is released on one or more of the first access and the second access in which the maximum number of the PDU sessions has been reached.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate and to a method to handle rejected NSSAI area. The method includes receiving a NAS message indicating registration accept or registration reject with a reject cause. The reject cause indicating a S-NSSAI is not available in a subset of a current registration area where the reject cause is applied for a S-NSSAI. In an example, the method includes storing the rejected S-NSSAI in a rejected NSSAI for the subset of the current registration area. In another example, the method includes deleting a current registration area based on the subset of the current registration area where the reject cause is applied for the S-NSSAI. The UE considers a S-NSSAI part of the requested NSSAI as not applicable to current tracking area and S-NSSAI part of the requested NSSAI is allowed outside current tracking area.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a fifth generation (5G) or sixth generation (6G) communication system. Embodiments herein disclose methods for maintaining priority of a VPLMN during a PLMN selection procedure by a UE. The method includes ignoring a pre-configured priority for a VPLMN and considering the VPLMN as a lowest priority in response to determining that the UE has entered a state and the second SOR information is not received before the UE enters the state or the received second SOR information security check is not successful. The method includes considering a priority of the VPLMN as the pre-configured priority by not considering the VPLMN as a lowest priority and stopping the timer associated with the “first SOR security check not successful” in response to determining that the UE receives the second SOR information and a second SOR security check is successful before the UE enters the state.

    Abstract: A method of beam-based communication amongst a plurality of network nodes comprises detecting, by a subject node, a presence of a first set of nodes for beam-based communication, and receiving a list of a second set of nodes from at least a first node of the first set of nodes. Further, the method includes identifying at least a second node in the second set of nodes that is not detectable for beam-based communication by the subject node. The method comprises generating a distance-based mapping including distance information relating to the first set of nodes and the second node, from the subject node. Further, the method comprises transmitting, via beam-based communication by the subject node, content to a destination node based on a communication path determined using the distance-based mapping, the destination node being a node of one of the first set of nodes and the at least second node.

    Abstract: The disclosure relates to a 5G or 6G communication system for supporting a higher data transmission rate. Embodiments herein provide a method for handling timer expiry during an ongoing non-access stratum (NAS) procedure in a wireless network by a UE. The method includes detecting that a last running first timer is stopped or expired. Further, the method includes performing a deregistration procedure by sending a deregistration request message to a network entity in the wireless network when the last running first timer is stopped or expired. Further, the method includes starting a second timer. Further, the method includes determining that the deregistration procedure is not successful in first attempt. Further, the method includes aborting the ongoing deregistration procedure upon determining that the deregistration procedure is not successful in the first attempt. The method can be used to ensure that the UE registers over higher priority PLMN without any delay and extra signalling.
