Abstract:
An image formation apparatus is disclosed which includes, within an enclosure configured by a pair of substrates placed face to face and an external frame placed between the substrates, an electron source placed on one of the pair of substrates, an image formation material placed on the other substrate, and spacers placed between the substrates, characterized in that the spacers and the external frame is conductive and device is provided for electrically connecting the spacers and the external frame so that the equipotential surfaces between the spacers and the external frame are quasi-parallel when driven.
Abstract:
A cover body of a vehicle air bag apparatus, being comprised of a covering portion which is formed integrally with an interior panel body and which has a door portion defined by a tear seam formed in a back of the interior panel body, and, a backing portion joined to a back of the covering portion. The covering portion is made of polyolefin resin having a flexual elastic modulus of from 1500 to 3500 MPa, a tensile strength of from 17 to 40 MPa, an Izod impact strength of from 3.0 to 15.0 kJ/m2, and an elongation of 400% or less. The backing portion is made of thermoplastic olefin which is softer and has a greater elongation. The backing portion is comprised of a reinforcing portion at a back of the door portion, a surrounding base at the back of the covering portion, and a hinge portion joining the reinforcing portion and the surrounding base.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the invention improve the performance of a HDD (Hard Disk Drive). In one embodiment, MBR (Master Boot Record) is read from a magnetic disk. The read MBR is stored in a sector buffer by an event handler. A segment control section acquires the MBR stored in the sector buffer and refers to the partition type field to identify the file system. The segment control section refers to a cache mode table and selects a cache mode which is associated with the file system specified in the MBR. In the subsequent read and write operations, buffer handling and command execution control are performed according to the determined cache mode. Since an appropriate cache mode is selected depending on the file system, it is possible to raise the performance.
Abstract:
The present invention provides an offset printing apparatus for transferring an ink pattern onto a medium to be printed through a blanket. The apparatus includes a detector for detecting an amount of ink solvent impregnated into the blanket.
Abstract:
In an error recovery procedure (ERP) in a disk drive, the time needed to execute each step of the ERP is stored in a table. A timer measures the elapsed time from the start of the execution of the ERP, and the elapsed time is checked while executing the ERP. There are two types of ERP steps: those steps with (1) short execution times or (2) relatively long execution times. The two types of ERP steps are stored in different tables. An ERP step is selected and executed depending on the remaining execution time for the ERP.
Abstract:
To generate electric energy to a load such as an electric car or the like, a fuel cell power generation system includes a fuel cell composed of a fuel electrode and an oxygen electrode with an electrolytic layer interposed therebetween so as to continuously supply electric power to the load, a secondary cell for supplying a required quantity of electric energy to the load at least during the initial time until the generation of electric energy is started with the fuel cell and a shifting unit serving to shift the power source of electric energy to the load from the fuel cell main body to the secondary cell or from the secondary cell to the fuel cell. An electrolytic layer constituting the fuel cell is composed of a film of high molecular material having ionic conductivity, and the secondary cell is a secondary lithium cell consisting of a nonaqueous solution based material or a solid electrolyte based material as an electrolyte.

Abstract:
The triorganosiloxydiphenylsilanols of the present invention are novel silicone compounds that are useful as plasticizers for silicone rubbers. The present invention also relates to a method for preparing these compounds in high yield and purity and a method for preparing filled curable organosiloxane compositions using the present compounds as plasticizers.
Abstract:
A diphenylsiloxane-dimethylsiloxane copolymer that contains at least one organofunctional group at its molecular chain terminals, wherein said organofunctional group is bonded to the silicon atom across a divalent organic group and wherein said organofunctional group is selected from the set comprising the amino group, epoxy group, carboxyl group, and hydroxyl group and a method for the preparation of the copolymer.
Abstract:
A drum type washing apparatus and a method of processing the wash using the drum type washing apparatus wherein they have a characterizing feature which consists in that the peripheral wall of a rotary drum made of a perforated plate is configured in the form of a wall having a single corrugated portion or a plurality of corrugated portions which do not intersect the direction of centrifugal force generated by rotation of the rotary drum at right angles. Further, they have other characterizing features which consist in that the apparatus is provided with a liquid injecting nozzle and/or a gas blowing nozzle and/or a hot air blowing nozzle for allowing liquid and/or gas and/or hot air to be injected and/or blown into the interior of the rotary drum whereby a period of time required for performing steps of washing, dewatering and drying the wash in the rotary drum can be shortened. Moreover, they have another characterizing feature which consists in that the rotary drum is rotated and air is blown into the interior of the rotary drum while a door is kept opened so that the wash can be discharged from the rotary drum at a high efficiency under the influence of force generated by flowing of the air.
