    摘要: A system includes a control module, a valve control module, and a diagnostic module. The control module controls a valve of a variable intake manifold when the system operates in a first mode. The control module commands the valve to a first position when a desired airflow through the variable intake manifold is greater than a threshold and commands the valve to a second position when the desired airflow is less than the threshold. The valve control module controls the valve when the system operates in a second mode. The valve control module commands the valve to move from the second position to the first position when the desired airflow is less than the threshold. The diagnostic module determines an operating state of the valve based on whether the valve is detected at the first position a predetermined period after the valve control module commands the valve.

    摘要: A system for a parallel intake engine includes first, second, third, and fourth modules. The first module estimates a total mass air flow (MAF) into the engine based on a cross-sectional area of a throttle and a pressure ratio across the throttle. The second module estimates first and second MAFs through first and second induction paths, respectively, based on the estimated total MAF and a factor. The third module calculates first and second differences between the estimated first and second MAFs and first and second MAFs measured by first and second MAF sensors, respectively. The fourth module detects failures of the first and second MAF sensors based on the first and second differences and first and second thresholds, respectively.

    摘要: An engine control system comprises a first factor calculating module that calculates a first factor based on intake cam position (ICAM), exhaust cam position (ECAM), engine speed (RPM) and first calibration factors. A second factor calculating module calculates a second factor based on ICAM, ECAM, RPM and second calibration factors. A residual gas fraction (RGF) estimating module estimates a RGF value based on the first factor adjusted for altitude and said second factor. A method comprises calculating a first factor based on intake cam position (ICAM), exhaust cam position (ECAM), engine speed (RPM) and first calibration factors; calculating a second factor based on ICAM, ECAM, RPM and second calibration factors; and estimating a residual gas fraction (RGF) value based on the first factor adjusted for altitude and said second factor.
