A ferromagnetic metal powder comprises a ferromagnetic metal particle composed mainly of iron, a silicon compound layer formed on the surface of the ferromagnetic metal particle in such an amount that the amount of silicon is 0.1 to 1% by weight based on iron in the ferromagnetic metal particle, and a layer containing a nonferrous transition metal element compound, which is formed on the silicon compound layer.

An optical information recording and reproducing apparatus for recording and reproducing an information signal on and from a recording medium, respectively, having a recording track, and which includes a beam generator, having a laser, for generating a primary beam and first and second secondary beams of light arranged substantially in the same direction as the track on the recording medium, a focussing lens for focusing the primary beam and first and second secondary beams of light on the recording medium, and a detecting device having a primary photodetector for detecting a reflected primary beam from the recording medium and first and second secondary photodetectors for detecting reflected first and second secondary beams from the recording medium. Additionally the apparatus includes a beam intensity control device for controlling the intensity of at least the primary light beam such that high and low intensities of at least the primary beam are sufficient to create and prevent indicia in the recording medium, respectively, in accordance with the information signal when the apparatus is in a recording mode and for controlling the intensity of at least the primary beam such that a substantially constant intensity is maintained in at least the primary beam to prevent indicia from being formed in the recording medium when said apparatus is in a reproducing mode. The apparatus also includes a focussing control device for controlling the position of the focussing lens by using the amplified difference between the outputs of the first and second secondary photodetectors when the apparatus is in a recording mode, and a position control device for controlling the tracking of the primary beam on the recording track in response to the amplified difference between the outputs of the first and second secondary photodetectors when the apparatus is in a reproducing mode.

The synthetic resin laminate has a vinyl copolymer resin (A) layer and a polycarbonate resin (B) layer, wherein layer (A) is directly laminated on one surface of layer (B), and in which (A) contains a (meth)acrylate structural unit (a) represented by a specific formula and an aliphatic vinyl structural unit (b) represented by a specific formula, the total proportion of the (meth)acrylate structural unit (a) and the aliphatic vinyl structural unit (b) is from 90 to 100 mol % relative to the total of all the structural units in (A), and the proportion of the (meth)acrylate structural unit (a) is from 65 to 80 mol % relative to the total of all the structural units in (A).

The back side display unit and the front side display unit are disposed not to produce blind spot regions of the back patterns. It is an object of the invention to improve a recording capacity density by removing part of diffracted light and by making a recording region in relation to a recording medium in the efficient shape. An optical information recording apparatus in which holography is formed in an optical information recording medium by making information light reflected by a spatial modulator interfere with reference light, is provided with a diffracted light removal means which removes part of diffracted light of the reflected light, and whose aperture is in the shape of a square.

A high frequency semiconductor device includes a ground plate, an insulating layer, a power-supply conductor, an insulating interlayer, and a strip line as a line conductor. The power-supply conductor is disposed above the ground plate, with the insulating layer provided therebetween. The ground plate and the power-supply conductor have a capacitance formed therebetween. Thus, the line conductor regards the power-supply conductor as having a potential identical to that of the ground plate. This makes it possible to lay out the line conductor without considering the arrangement of the power-supply conductor. In other words, by two-dimensionally overlapping a microstrip line and a power-supply conductor in an MMIC, the degree of freedom in the device layout can be increased.

The thickness of the light-transmitting cover falls within the range of 0.05 mm to 0.6 mm, the numerical aperture (NA) of the objective lens is set to fall within the range of 0.55 to 1.10, and the wavelength of the light beam is selected to be between 100 nm to 780 nm.
