Abstract: An integrated system for the monitoring and treating diabetes is provided, including an integrated receiver/hand-held medicament injection pen, including electronics, for use with a continuous glucose sensor. In some embodiments, the receiver is configured to receive continuous glucose sensor data, to calculate a medicament therapy (e.g., via the integrated system electronics) and to automatically set a bolus dose of the integrated hand-held medicament injection pen, whereby the user can manually inject the bolus dose of medicament into the host. In some embodiments, the integrated receiver and hand-held medicament injection pen are integrally formed, while in other embodiments they are detachably connected and communicated via mutually engaging electrical contacts and/or via wireless communication.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a multi-analyte sensor system. The system includes a first sensor with a first enzyme for a first analyte, a second sensor with a second enzyme for a second analyte different from the first analyte, a potentiostat, a memory, and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The potentiostat applies a first voltage to the first sensor to cause a first current to flow through the first sensor and applies a second voltage to the second sensor to cause a second current to flow through the second sensor. The processor determines, based on the first current, a level of the first analyte and determines, based on the second current, a level of the second analyte.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing, transmitting and displaying data received from an analyte sensor, such as a glucose sensor, are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for transmitting data between a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor and a second communication device configured to provide user access to sensor-related information comprises: activating a transceiver of a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor at a first time; and establishing a two-way communication channel with the second communication device; wherein the activating comprises waking the transceiver from a low power sleep mode using a forced wakeup from the second communication device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a continuous monitoring of analyte values received from an analyte sensor system are provided. One method for a wireless data communication between an analyte sensor system and a mobile device involves storing identification information associated with a transceiver of the analyte sensor system, the identification information entered by a user of the mobile device via a custom application running on the mobile device; causing the custom application to enter a background mode; searching for advertisement signals; receiving an advertisement signal from the transceiver; authenticating the transceiver based on the identification information; prompting the user to bring the custom application to a foreground mode; causing the custom application to request a confirmation from the user that a data connection with the transceiver is desired; receiving the confirmation from the user; and completing the data connection with the transceiver.

Abstract: Techniques for performing application-layer security are disclosed. In certain embodiments, analyte data may be obtained from an analyte sensor operatively coupled to a sensor electronics module of an analyte sensor system. Thereafter, the analyte data may be encrypted, in an application layer of a protocol stack of the sensor electronics module using a session key established between the analyte sensor system and a display device. Abstract: The present disclosure describes a multi-analyte sensor system that detects artifacts using multiple analytes. According to an embodiment, the multi-analyte sensor system includes a first analyte sensor, a second analyte sensor, and a sensor electronics module. The first analyte sensor produces a first analyte signal stream indicating a level of a first analyte. The second analyte sensor produces a second analyte signal stream indicating a level of a second analyte different from the first analyte. The sensor electronics module detects, based on the first analyte signal stream and the second analyte signal stream, at least one of a compression event or a dip and recover event and in response to detecting at least one of the compression event or the dip and recover event, make an adjustment related to at least one of the first analyte sensor or the first analyte signal stream based on the event.
