摘要: Whether the rear seat in a passenger compartment of a motor vehicle is occupied or not is sensed and, if not, a mode door adapted to control the proportion of air flows through upper and lower outlets of an air flow duct is suitably controlled such that the amount of air blown out from the lower outlet into the passenger compartment is increased relative to that from the upper outlet which will direct the air toward the rear end of the passenger compartment. Additionally, the temperature for turning the compressor on and off are shifted to slightly higher levels compared with the temperatures at which the compressor would be turned on and off if the rear seat were occupied.

Minor temperature variations in the enclosure occuring while the cooler (31) is off are compensated for by positioning an air mix door (37).

摘要: In a distribution type fuel injection system, the injection advance angle, or the relative angular position at which fuel injection begins, is controlled by a first spring loaded piston (44). The spring force is opposed by pressurized fuel from a pump (14), the pressure increasing with engine speed. A second spring loaded piston (49) moves the first piston (44) to an advanced position for starting the engine and is retracted when the fuel pressure reaches a certain value to retard the advance angle in an idling speed range. The fuel pressure moves the first piston (44) to progressively advance the angle in a higher speed range. An O-ring (61) is provided to an end of the second piston (49) which abuts against an end wall (53) so that the fluid pressure receiving area of the second piston (49) is small when the second piston (49) abuts against the end wall (53) but is greater when the second piston (49) is moved away from the end wall (53). The effect is that the second piston (49) is prevented from moving and retarding the advance angle until the engine speed and fuel pressure reach a relatively high value upon starting of the engine. Thereafter, the advance angle will be retarded upon a return of the engine speed to the idling range.

摘要: Glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19) for a Diesel engine are connected to a power source (12) through a switch (13) to receive electrical power. A time constant circuit including a capacitor (32) and resistors (31), (33) is connected to the power source (12) through another switch (27) together with the glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19). The time constant circuit is constructed so that the voltage across the capacitor (32 ) is proportional to the temperature of the glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19). A comparator (34) opens the switches (13), (27) to disconnect the power source (12) from the glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19) and time constant circuit when the voltage across the capacitor (32) is above a predetermined value and closes the switches (13), (22) to connect the power source (12 ) to the glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19) and time constant circuit when the voltage across the capacitor (32) is below the predetermined value. This has the effect of heating the glow plugs (16), (17), (18), (19) to a predetermined temperature and maintaining them at the predetermined temperature.

摘要: A rotary compressor comprises a cylinder in which a rotor is eccentrically disposed. A plurality of generally rectangular, radially extending vanes are slidably disposed in slots in the rotor and sealingly engage the inner wall of the cylinder. Rotation of the rotor and vanes causes compression of refrigerant gas or the like trapped between adjacent vanes and discharge of the gas from the compressor. The radially outer edges of the vanes which engage the cylinder wall are curved, and the leading and trailing surfaces near the radially outer edges of the vanes are cut away to prevent sticking of the vanes in the slots due to deformation of the edges of the vanes after an extended period of use.

摘要: A circuit for controlling a solenoid clutch wherein a gap is present between an electromagnet and an associated attracted member when in the disengaged state. The circuit controls the level of exciting current supplied to an exciting coil of the solenoid clutch in such a way that the width of the gap is first reduced to zero and then the slip rate of the solenoid clutch is gradually changed from 1 to 0, whereby the solenoid clutch gradually reaches the completely engaged state, making it possible to smoothly engage the solenoid clutch without the occurrence of mechanical shock.

摘要: A swash plate compressor is disclosed which is provided with a compression capacity control apparatus capable of returning an output pressure of a high pressure chamber of one cover to a low pressure chamber of the same cover. The control apparatus comprises a delivery chamber which is communicated with a high pressure chamber of the other cover, isolated from the high pressure chamber of said one cover and connected to a delivery conduit. The control apparatus also comprises a compression capacity control passageway providing communication between the delivery chamber and the low pressure and high pressure chambers of said one cover. A valve member is disposed in the control passageway to interrupt the communication between the delivery chamber and the high pressure chamber of said one cover while establishing communication between the low pressure and high pressure chambers of said one cover.

摘要: A centrifugal governor ensures a positive engine starting operation as well as a smoke control in the low engine speed range and a usual fuel injection control responsive to an increase in engine speed. A control rod with a rack is operatively connected with a floating lever through a spring biased piston and cylinder assembly, so that the control rod can be freely moved to its maximum fuel injection position during engine starting without being effected by a smoke limiter, which may be associated with the governor for a smoke control purpose. A unique lever mechanism is operable to move the control rod to the maximum fuel injection position during engine starting but, after a predetermined engine speed is reached, yields to a movement of the control rod in a fuel decreasing direction caused by the floating lever through the piston and cylinder assembly.

摘要: A unique system is disclosed which controls a pressure in a pneumatic pressure supply line of a vehicle in response to both a pressure developing in an accumulator (12) included in the supply line and an engine load, so that a compressor (10) for providing the pressure is activated under light load engine operation, as when air brakes are applied, to effect an engine brake and to elevate the accumulator pressure for reducing the total energy consumption and, therefore, total fuel consumption. A pressure feedback line (16) communicates a pressure in the accumulator (12) to an unloading pressure control valve (32) through a solenoid operated valve (34), which is controlled in response to an output of an engine load sensor (42) and that of a pressure sensor (44). Under heavy load engine operation, the valve (34) is opened at a first pressure level during an elevation of the pressure and closed at a second pressure level which is sufficiently lower than the first during a drop of the pressure. Under light load engine operation, the second pressure level is preselected to coincide with or substantially coincide with the first.

摘要: A diaphragm (38) controls a position of a control sleeve (14) relative to a plunger or piston (16) in response to a pressure differential between a pressure chamber (42) and a control chamber (46) which are defined by the diaphragm (38). The pressure chamber (42) is communicated to an atmospheric pressure or a boost pressure while the control chamber (46) is selectively communicated to a source of vacuum supply through a first check valve (62) and to the atmosphere through a second check valve (58). The first and second check valves open when the pressure inside the control chamber is higher and lower than a reference level, respectively, thereby maintaining the pressure within the control chamber (46) substantially at the reference level to promote an accurate control of the control sleeve (14).
