Abstract:
A filter includes a filter element (1) having a filter medium (106) pleated in a zigzag manner, with a raw side (105) and a clean side. On the raw side (105) and/or on the clean side of the filter medium (14; 106), a plurality of oblong adhesive sections (122) are disposed along at least two adhesive tracks (101) on the filter medium (106), which run obliquely or perpendicularly to the pleat edges (F) at least in some sections. Each adhesive track (101) having at least one adhesive section (122) and at least one adhesive interruption (107). The adhesive interruptions (107) are offset from each other such that in a medium section (120) the adhesive interruptions (107) do not form a passage (126) that runs continuously parallel to the pleat edges (F).
Abstract:
A fluid filtering apparatus and method may include keyed components to ensure that a correct filter element is being installed into a filter base. Keyed arrangements may occur between a filter element and a filter housing, a filter and a filter base, and a filter base and a filter housing. A locking arrangement may be provided to prevent undesired loosening of a filter relative to a filter base. The filter base may include a torsion lock insert that engages lock detents of a filter to prevent the undesired loosening. An adaptor may be provided to provide the lock detents that interact with a torsion lock insert.
Abstract:
A filter device for filtration of fluid has a filter element of a zigzag-folded filter medium that is flowed through in a radial direction of the filter element. An additive for functional change of fluid properties of the fluid to be filtered in the filter device is provided. The additive is applied circumferentially on the filter element onto outwardly positioned fold tips of the zigzag-folded filter medium of the filter element.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatus for increasing the duration of uninterrupted filtering flow by using crossflow filtration and ultrasonic energy with in difficult to filter process liquids (e.g. of the kind having (1) a carrier liquid, (2) coalescing solids particles which tend to adhere and bridge filter element gaps sized substantially larger than such particles, and (3) larger impurity elements to be filtered out of such process liquid and sized larger than such filter element gaps).
Abstract:
The invention relates to a filter element comprising a filter material (10) which comprises individual filter folds (12) which are folded in a star-like manner, at least one fluid-permeable support element (26) which extends at least partially in the space between two adjacent filter folds (12) and/or on the inner peripheral side and/or external peripheral side of the filter folds (12). The invention is characterised in that the respective support element (26) is provided with filter-active substances or is made of said filter-active substances. A certain type of filter auxillary agent can be obtained which is used to reduce influences of fluid components which reduce the service life, in the form of specific ageing products or in the form of other agents which damage the fluid.
Abstract:
A filter device having a vent device for inhibiting formation of a vacuum in the filter device. The filter device includes a drum for receiving the liquid wherein the drum includes a drum headspace. The filter device also includes filter sets for filtering the liquid. The drum is rotated to enable cleaning of filter media. The filter device also includes a frame having spaced apart supports for supporting each of the filter sets. A fluid passageway extends between the supports, wherein the fluid passageway provides fluid communication between the tank headspace and a filter set to vent a filter set.
Abstract:
A high efficiency fluid filter arrangement wherein a combined layer of scrim and filter media applications is of empirically relatively estimated weight size and depth with intermediate pleat spacing so as to arrive at a combined filtration capability value in keeping with selected approved test standards.
Abstract:
A filter cartridge (20) and method for making a filter cartridge (20) for removing particulates from a particulate laden fluid stream moving one direction through the filter cartridge. The filter cartridge (20) is periodically subject to cleaning fluid moving in an opposite direction to the fluid stream. The filter cartridge (20) comprises filtration media (24) formed into a tubular configuration and having a plurality of circumferentially spaced apart pleats (26). A retention device (82) to limit radial movement of the filtration media (24) when subjected to the periodical cleaning fluid and to maintain the pleats (26) in the filtration media circumferentially spaced apart when exposed up to 130 degrees Celsius. Preferably, the extrudate (144) is thermoplastic, polyester, elastomeric material and at least one additive may be present. Multiple layers of the extrudate (144) may be fused together.
Abstract:
A filter bag assembly includes an outer bag having an open end, a closed end opposite the open end, and a longitudinal axis. The open end of the outer bag is sized and shaped for receiving liquid to be filtered. A filter member is loosely mounted in the outer bag and has a pair of opposed open ends and a plurality of longitudinally extending pleats. Each of the pleats projects generally outwardly in a radial direction.
