Abstract:
Elevator, preferably an elevator without machine room. In the elevator, a hoisting machine engages a set of hoisting ropes by means of a traction sheave. The set of hoisting ropes comprises hoisting ropes of substantially circular cross-section. The hoisting ropes support a counterweight and an elevator car moving on their respective tracks. The hoisting rope has a thickness below 8 mm and/or the diameter of the traction sheave is smaller than 320 mm. The contact angle between the hoisting rope or hoisting ropes and the traction sheave is larger than 180°.
Abstract:
A tire cord having core filaments preformed into a helical configuration while maintaining the core filaments in a parallel, side-by-side relationship. The core filaments are not twisted or stranded together. High tensile strength sheath filaments are also preformed into a flattened helical configuration so that the sheath filaments can be wrapped around the side-by-side core filaments such that the sheath filaments do not put such tension on the core filaments as to cause the core filaments to bunch. The core filaments are maintained in a flat, side-by-side configation so that no voids are formed and rubber can penetrate into the tire cord. The core filaments may number from three to six and the sheath filaments from one to seven. The cross-section of the tire cord is flattened and confined within an oval-shaped outer bound, the oval outer bound being characterized by a major axis and a minor axis. It is desirable that the minor axis be no greater than 60% of the major axis to created the appropriate difference in the bending modulus of the tire cord in the horizontal versus the vertical direction.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a reinforcing cable for a flexible endless caterpillar track made of an elastomer. The cable (30) comprises a plurality of strands (32C, 32P) each formed from steel filaments and arranged so as to be wound in a helix in the thickness of the belt. Each strand comprises a core composed of at least three filaments (34), an intermediate layer composed of a plurality of filaments (36) and surrounding the core, and an outer layer composed of a plurality of filaments (38) surrounding the intermediate layer. Application to caterpillar tracks for all-terrain vehicles.

A steel cord for the reinforcement of rubber articles has a three-layer twisting structure comprising a core of 2 steel filaments, a middle sheath layer of 6 steel filaments and an outer sheath layer of 11 steel filaments, in which a ratio of filament diameter ds in the middle and outer sheath layers to filament diameter dc in the core (ds/dc) is within a range of 1.15-1.5 and a twisting pitch of the core is not less than 20 mm, and is used as a reinforcing member in a heavy duty pneumatic radial tire, conveyor belt and the like.
Abstract:
A steel cord comprising a core and a sheath arranged around the core. The core consists of two steel filaments, and the sheath consists of eight steel filaments. The diameter of each of the filaments is in a range from 0.30 to 0.42 mm, and a difference D.sub.c -D.sub.s between the diameter D.sub.c of the filaments of the core and that D.sub.s of the sheath is not less than 0.04 mm. The twisted direction of the core is the same as that of the sheath, and a ratio P.sub.s /P.sub.c between a pitch P.sub.s of the sheath and that of P.sub.c of the core is in a range from 1.4 to 3.0.
Abstract:
A steel cord for the reinforcement of rubber articles is disclosed, which comprises a central base structure composed of 1 to 4 steel filaments, and at least one coaxial layer composed of plural steel filaments arranged around the central base structure so as to adjoin them to each other, these steel filaments being twisted in the same direction at the same pitch. In the steel cord of this type, the steel filaments constituting the central base structure have the same diameter (dc), while at least one steel filament of the coaxial layer has a diameter (dso) smaller than the diameter (dc) of the steel filament in the central base structure.

Abstract:
A strand for reinforcing objects made of polymer material comprising at least one core wire and less than six outside wires arranged round it, the core wire having an outside diameter larger than the diameter of the circle tangent to each of the outside wires in the hollow space that remains free when their cross-sections have the highest packing density and smaller than the diameter of the outside wires, whereby the outside wires are made of carbon steel wire with a tensile strength of at least 2250-1130 log d N/mm.sup.2, d being the wire diameter in mm. The core wire has a tensile strength less than 2250-1130 log d N/mm.sup.2.
Abstract:
A compact steel cord is provided. The cord includes a core-filament I steel wire with a diameter of d0, and four middle-layer M steel wires with a diameter of d1 and eight outer-layer O steel wires with a diameter of d2 that are twisted around the core-filament I steel wire in the same lay direction and the same lay length. Gaps L are reserved between the outer-layer O steel wires, an average width of the gaps L is not smaller than 0.02 mm, and the total size of the gaps L is larger than d0 and smaller than d1. The steel cord of a stable structure can be obtained by controlling the proportion of the sizes of all layers of monofilaments, the rubber coating performance of a tire cord can also be improved, the corrosion resistance, fatigue resistance, impact resistance and adhesion retention of a tire are improved.
Abstract:
A kind of stainless steel auger braid welding material and its manufacturing method are disclosed in the invention, involving the field of welding technique. The stainless steel auger braid welding material consists of core wires and several steel tendons, wherein the said welding wire is of a round-bar shape; the said steel tendons are wrapped on the external surface of the said core wire along the axial line and stranded around the circumference of the said core wire, and each steel tendon shall be stranded by winding several fine wires. For the stainless steel auger braid welding material adopted in the invention, its melting rate is fast.
