摘要: The present disclosure provides a roof ventilation system and method that provides ventilation for a roof while further providing simpler ventilation installation, prevention of ice dams, a non-slip surface to walk on, and a secondary membrane to prevent moisture intrusion into the living space or walls. The roof ventilation system provided by the invention includes vertical side walls having a top portion. A roof extends outwardly and beyond the vertical side walls. The roof has a top surface facing away from the vertical side walls. A web of extruded polymer monofilaments is secured to the top surface of the roof. The polymer monofilaments are heat welded at junctions to form a matrix of tangled monofilaments. The method for ventilating a roof of a building provided by the invention includes installing a web of extruded polymer monofilaments on a top surface of the roof.

摘要: A roof system includes a roof deck and a plurality of roof rafters supporting the roof deck. A thermal break is located between the deck and a first rafter of the plurality of rafters. The thermal break includes a break inner member contacting a first rafter exterior surface of the first rafter and a break outer member contacting a deck inner surface of the roof deck. The break inner member and the break outer member bound a thermal air break therebetween.

摘要: Insulation spacer devices, methods and related construction techniques are provided. An exemplary device may include a body having a plurality of openings defining an openwork, to allow the passage of air therethrough when placed in contact with insulation material. The device may further include a plurality of spacer struts and/or spacing depressions fixedly attached to the body. The struts may be configured to maintain a predetermined distance between a first side of the insulation material and a building surface. The body and struts act together to define and maintain a space between the first side of the insulation material and the building surface, for example, for ventilation. The building surface can be the bottom face of a roof, an insulated attic floor, wall sheathing or a soundproofed demising wall, for example. The spacer device can be capable of being transported and stored together with, or as a separate item from, the insulation material, and can also be stored in nested layers. The device can also be stored in rolled form. The openwork of the device can additionally or alternatively include a sheet of Entangled net filaments or other similar material.

摘要: A roofing system and article for installation on a roof deck. The roofing article includes a body having an upper portion and an underside. A first channel is defined within the upper portion. The first channel includes an inlet. A second channel is defined intermediate the underside of the body and the roof deck. The second channel is operably connected to the first channel through an orifice, such that the outside air can enter the second channel through the orifice.

摘要: The present invention comprises an effective insulation and ventilating assembly that can insulate a structure, usually in roofing or exterior wall applications, from conductive, convective and radiant heat. The insulating and venting assembly is comprised of a rigid foam sheet and a rigid panel such as oriented strand board (OSB) or plywood attached one or both sides of the rigid foam sheet. The rigid foam sheet has air spacer columns and air spaces on one or both faces. Radiant barrier layers can be applied to either faces of the rigid panels and/or can be applied to the air spacer and air space surfaces allowing for radiant heat to be radiating back or radiant heat to not be reradiated by the radiant barrier low emissivity surface. The air spaces in the rigid foam face allows air and moisture to be vented though the insulating and venting assembly.
