Abstract:
A damping device for a hatch in a military vehicle used during its closing and opening, said hatch being integral with hinges hinged with respect to an interface, wherein said device comprises a tubular body integral with the hinges and hinged between two bearings integral with the interface, said body enclosing two fixed damping means between which a rod is positioned, said rod being mobile in translation to activate one of the damping means during the opening of the hatch and the other damping means during the closing of the hatch.
Abstract:
An opening and closing member control apparatus for a vehicle includes a driving device adapted to drive an opening and closing member to open and close an opening portion formed at a vehicle body, a sensor provided at a connecting portion connecting the vehicle body with the opening and closing member, the sensor detecting an opening operation and a closing operation of the opening and closing member, and a drive controlling device controlling the driving device to drive the opening and closing member to open or close the opening portion by determining the opening operation or the closing operation of the opening and closing member based on a detection value of the sensor.
Abstract:
A door operator includes a housing; a hydraulic compartment; a pressure compartment; a drive unit disposed in the housing and coupleable to a door via an output shaft, the drive unit being associated with the hydraulic compartment; a hydraulic pump in hydraulic connection with the hydraulic compartment and the pressure compartment; a motor in driving relationship with the hydraulic pump; and a spring force accumulator disposed in the housing. The spring force accumulator is associated with the pressure compartment and coupled to the drive unit.
Abstract:
When a slide door stops at an intermediate position over a protection action time start time (Tβ), an electric motor is operated in closing direction in low driving force mode. When the move speed (Vc) of the slide door is a movable speed (Vα) or higher, the slide door is moved to its fully closed position by automatic closing action, and an electromagnetic clutch is disconnected. On the other hand, when the move speed (Vc) of the slide door is not made to reach the movable speed (Vα) or higher over a speed judgment time (Tj), the electric motor is operated in closing direction in the low driving force mode, and when the move speed (Vo) of the slide door is made to reach the movable speed (Vα) or higher, the slide door is automatically opened. Further, when the move speed (Vo) of the slide door is made to reach the movable speed (Vα) or higher for the speed judgment time (Tj), the electric motor is stopped, and the electromagnetic clutch is made into its disconnected status.
Abstract:
A method for controlling access to a building selected from a hospital, a medical clinic or the like, or a nursing home, a retirement residence or the like or a portion of the building, comprises (a) positioning an apparatus comprising an input member and an output dispenser proximate to a barrier to entry of the building or the portion thereof; (b) requiring a person to use the input member to provide the apparatus with at least one of (i) their destination in the building or the portion thereof, and (ii) the duration of their attendance at the building or the portion thereof; and (c) using a dispenser apparatus to automatically provide a pass to the person wherein the pass incorporates at least one of the following items of information: (I) the portions of the building which the person may enter, and (ii) the time during which the person may be in the building or the portion thereof.
Abstract:
An apparatus for automatically opening a swinging restroom door is provided. The apparatus comprises an actuator, a control unit, and a power assisted drive mechanism that can be connected to an existing door closing mechanism. The actuator comprises a proximity sensor and further comprises a series of iconic symbols corresponding to predetermined proximity zones. The control unit is in electronic communication with the actuator with which signals are exchanged. The power assisted drive mechanism is in electronic communication with the control unit and can be connected to an existing door closing mechanism wherein the actions of the door closing mechanism are reversed and the door is opened.
Abstract:
An emergency door opening actuator includes electrical switches that are at least one of normally open and normally closed. The electrical switches may be connected accordingly in parallel or in series to terminals of an overhead door operator. The terminals may correspond to a push button circuit, an obstruction sensing circuit, an alarm system circuit, and/or a door opening circuit. The emergency door opening actuator may take advantage of a protocol in the operator to cause the overhead door to open during an emergency condition to facilitate egress. Likewise, the emergency door opening actuator may cause that the overhead door cannot close by signaling the protocol in a predetermined way when the switches are actuated by an emergency condition. The electrical switches may be mechanically actuated when at least one fusible link is broken. The emergency door opening actuator may include an automatic mechanical stop and/or a test release mechanism.
Abstract:
A vehicle closure hinge includes a mount having a pivot axis flange, a pivot link, a pivot coupling the pivot link to the pivot axis flange and a spring formed by a laterally coiled strand extending from a first coil end to a second coil end in a direction substantially perpendicular to the plane of displacement about the pivot axis. The coil size, the strand size and the number of coils can be varied as desired to vary the spring biasing force exerted against the vehicle closure without varying other components of the hinge. The hinge parts may be designed with various configurations including simple pivoting links or a four bar linkage. A strand end of the coil spring extends along the direction of the coil to a position at a first coil end to maintain biasing force near the plane of displacement about the pivot axis.

Abstract:
An apparatus is provided in which a motor 11 with reduction gears, a clutch 12 and a gas stay are provided between a vehicle body 2 and a tailgate 1 so that a fully opened position of the tailgate can be held by virtue of a thrust of the gas stay only, and in this apparatus, when a closure of the tailgate from its own weight is detected after the motor with reduction gears is disconnected, the motor with reduction gears is connected to the tailgate to drive to forcibly close it after the tailgate is driven to be opened to the fully opened position thereof. By this construction, when the holding force of the opened position is short, since the tailgate is closed after it is opened to the fully opened position once, cargo loading and unloading work can be completed while the tailgate is so closed.
