    摘要: A method of operating a wind turbine is provided. The wind turbine includes a rotor that is rotatably coupled to a generator that is positioned within a nacelle. The rotor includes one or more rotor blades that are coupled to a hub. The method includes transmitting, from a first sensor to a control system, at least a first monitoring signal indicative of a first wind condition at a first distance from the wind turbine. A second sensor transmits at least a second monitoring signal that is indicative of a second wind condition at a second distance from the wind turbine that is longer than the first distance to the control system. The control system calculates a wind turbine operating command based at least in part on the first monitoring signal and the second monitoring signal. One or more wind turbine components are operated based on the calculated wind turbine operating command.

    摘要: The risk of an extreme gust of wind hitting a wind turbine is estimated by gathering data from one or more sensors for use as training data. This data is acquired over a period of time and is converted in to a feature vector for a given time period by a statistical measure. A number of feature zones are formed, each zone relating to a different estimate of risk with each feature vector being assigned to a risk category. The risk category is defined with reference to the value of one or more chosen turbine parameters at the time the data was acquired. The feature zones are formed from from a measure of distance such as the mean and co-variance of feature vectors from within a given category. Live data is processed by measuring the mahalonobis distance from the feature vector of the live data to the centre of each zone and the risk of an extreme gust is assessed as that of the feature zone to which the mahalonobis distance is lowest.

    摘要: A wind turbine generator, an active damping method thereof, and a windmill tower in which vibrations of the wind turbine generator itself or the windmill tower can be reduced at low cost are provided. The acceleration due to vibrations of a nacelle is detected with an accelerometer attached to the nacelle. In an active damping unit, a pitch angle of windmill blades for generating a thrust on the windmill blades so as to cancel out the vibrations of the nacelle is calculated on the basis of the acceleration, and the pitch angle is output as a blade-pitch-angle command δθ* for damping. On the other hand, in a pitch-angle control unit, a pitch angle of the windmill blades for controlling the output to be a predetermined value is calculated, and the pitch angle is output as a blade-pitch-angle command θ* for output control. The blade-pitch-angle command δθ* for damping is combined with the blade-pitch-angle command θ* for output control using a subtracter. The pitch angle of the windmill blades is controlled on the basis of the resulting blade-pitch-angle command after combining.
