摘要: A floating plate is provided in a cylinder chamber and slides freely like a piston. A first group of laminated, ring-shaped, thin-plate piezoelectric elements is provided between a fixed support member provided on part of a wall portion of this cylinder chamber and the floating plate. A second group of laminated, cylindrical, thin-plate piezoelectric elements is provided in the center of the first group and a working member is provided on the free end of the second group of elements that is not attached to the floating plate. A hydraulic chamber is formed in the cylinder chamber on the side of the floating plate opposite to the side on which the first and second groups of elements are provided, and the pressure in this hydraulic chamber pushes the floating plate in the direction of the fixed support member. Voltage is applied to the first and second groups of elements to expand and contract them thereby varying the distance between the floating plate and the fixed support member and varying the distance between the floating plate and the working member.

摘要: A vehicle differential assembly is provided that includes a differential adapted to allow differing rotational speed between a pair of outputs. The differential includes a gear assembly connected to the outputs and one or more hydraulically-actuated clutches for selectively and variably coupling the outputs. A hydraulic pump is adapted to generate hydraulic fluid pressure for engagement of the hydraulically-actuated clutches. A variable-engagement clutch is operatively connected to the input and the hydraulic pump such that the input selectively drives the hydraulic pump during engagement of the clutch to provide hydraulic fluid pressure to the hydraulically-actuated clutches. A valve operatively connected to the hydraulic pump and the hydraulically-actuated clutches to selectively and variably provides fluid pressure from the hydraulic pump to the hydraulically-actuated clutches. A method of controlling vehicle stability is also provided.

The hydraulic clutch actuation system includes an electromagnet and a piston operable to supply pressurized fluid and provide the clutch engagement force.

摘要: A solenoid control valve for use in actuation of a manual hydraulic clutch in a vehicle. The solenoid control valve has an electronically operated solenoid with armature and actuator rod displaced through a channel in the solenoid. A spool valve has a valve body that is coupled at one end to the solenoid. A spool is slidably disposed in the control channel. A first and second dampener chambers are located at the two ends of the spool. The dampeners function to improve the stability in the control system and balance the transient flow forces of the hydraulic fluid as it moves through the valve member. The spool also has a control portion located between the first end and the second end of the spool. The control portion allows the control portion to communicate with a supply, control and exhaust passages in the valve body.

摘要: A variable speed drive mounted within a housing includes clutch means of the disc type operatively connected between input and output shafts and an interior support coupling member. The support coupling member comprises a stationary support extending from the housing and concentric bearings for mounting a center coupling therein. The center coupling receives the extreme inboard ends of the shafts to provide support thereof and it is operatively connected between the clutch means and the output shaft to transmit torque. The concentric bearings permit relative rotation between one of the shafts and the center coupling, and provide bearing support for both of the shafts within the stationary support member. An electronic control system is also provided for the variable speed drive which senses output errors and uses them to directly modulate the power signal to an electromagnetic clutch or brake component of the drive. The control system may be utilized to provide a variable speed drive with forward and reverse operation as well as a positive or retarding torque in either direction.
