    摘要: A portable motorized device for remotely inserting or removing (racking) draw-out power circuit breakers. Many different designs of draw-out circuit breakers may be connected or disconnected from an energized bus by a human operator cranking a jack screw mechanism that is part of the breaker. The device herein described provides a portable, motorized device that can be hand-carried to the work location and affixed to the circuit breaker without the need of any modification to the breaker or its enclosure. The torque that is required to operate the breaker's racking mechanism is provided by an electrically powered gear motor. Attached to the output shaft of the gear motor is a socket that engages the circuit breaker racking screw. Anti-torque is provided by a portion of the portable racking device that engages the racking screw support frame.

    摘要: An electrical isolation apparatus to automatically interrupt main power in advance of its junction to the main electrical panel whenever the main disconnect switch is turned off. A method for retrofitting an existing electrical panel enclosure with an electrical isolation box (EIB) is also disclosed, along with a retrofit kit. The electrical isolation apparatus includes an auxiliary relay resident in the main electrical panel enclosure and actuated by said main disconnect switch. The electrical isolation apparatus also includes the EIB in a second ride-on enclosure attached to the main panel enclosure. The EIB encloses a power contactor with at least one power contactor switch (three for three-phase). The control input of the power contactor is connected through both enclosures to the auxiliary relay resident in the main enclosure for controlling the power contactor. Indicator lights, a voltage monitor, and a reset/test switch panel-mounted on the EIB enclosure are also disclosed for status display. The foregoing avoids any high voltage condition in the main power receptacle after the disconnect is actuated, creating a safer work environment.

    摘要: An optical fiber temperature sensor implements a temperature monitoring function in an interphase insulating material between sandwich bus bars. The optical fiber temperature sensor is formed by housing an optical fiber cable in a housing formed from an ultra-thin sheet made from an insulating material having insulation quality equal to or higher than interphase insulating material between sandwich bus bars. Multiple ultra-thin columnar members, each made from same material as is housing, are housed in multiple locations in housing. Multiple sensor rings are each formed by unfixedly winding a portion of optical fiber cable with a length equal to or longer than that corresponding to range resolution around corresponding one of ultra-thin columnar members. The multiple sensor rings measure temperatures in multiple locations. Silicone sealing is applied to housing side surfaces. All surfaces of housing are sealed with a hermetic sealing member made from a silicone-based liquid insulating material.
