摘要: Embodiments of message gates are described. A message gate is the message endpoint for a client or service in a distributed computing environment. A message gate may provide a secure endpoint that sends and receives type-safe messages. Gates may perform the sending and receiving of messages between clients and services using a protocol specified in a service advertisement. In one embodiment, the messages are eXtensible Markup Language (XML) messages. For a client, a message gate represents the authority to use some or all of a service's capabilities. Each capability may be expressed in terms of a message that may be sent to the service. Creation of a message gate may involve an authentication service that generates an authentication credential, and that may negotiate the desired level of security and the set of messages that may be passed between client and service. A message gate may perform verification of messages against a message schema to ensure that the messages are allowed. Message gates may embed the authentication credential in outgoing messages so that the receiving message gate may authenticate the message. Messages may also include information to allow the receiving gate to verify that the message has not been compromised prior to receipt.

摘要: A system and method for automatically allocating computing resources of a rack-and-blade computer assembly. The method includes receiving server performance information from an application server pool disposed in a rack of a rack-and-blade computer assembly, and determining at least one QoS attribute for the application server pool. If the QoS attribute is below a standard, a blade server is allocated from a free server pool for use by the application server pool. If the QoS attribute is above a standard, at least one server is removed from the application server pool. An article of manufacture including a machine-readable medium having stored thereon instructions for automatically allocating computing resources of a rack-and-blade computer assembly.

摘要: A method for measuring the performance of a large computer network is defined. The method provides a method of defining and characterizing the population of interest and interesting sub-populations; a method of providing a sampling list of nodes that represent the population; measuring the performance of destinations in the sampling list; recording raw data therefrom; reducing the raw data and providing presentations of information indicative of one or more of the sub-populations in ways that address questions of interest.

摘要: A service desk server receives trouble ticket information TC showing a fault status of a device, whereupon incident information X is generated (t0). Subsequently, the faulty service name is retrieved from fault information table based on the trouble ticket information TC. The service desk server then enters the service name in a template to generate fault notification message data html1 and html2 for transfer to a first and a second web server, respectively. Each of first and second web servers is thereby prompted to post a fault notification on their web site, on the basis of fault notification message data html1 and html2. Thus, fault information can be automatically notified to end users.
