Abstract:
There is disclosed a method of, mobile device for and apparatus for using a mobile device to actuate a multifunction peripheral device using near field communication. The mobile device includes a user interface for receiving a selection of an electronic document and instructions regarding a selected document processing operation to be performed by the multifunction peripheral and for receiving a selection of an electronic address to which the electronic document is to be directed by the multifunction peripheral. The mobile device also includes a first near field communications transceiver for receiving input indicating that the mobile device is within range of a second near field communication transceiver, for receiving communication, at the first near field transceiver from the second near field communication transceiver, indicating that the first near field communication transceiver is ready to accept the electronic document, instructions pertaining to the selected document processing operation, and the electronic address.
Abstract:
An image forming apparatus includes an accepting unit, and a controller. The accepting unit accepts an instruction to execute an image forming process. The controller controls the accepting unit so as to prohibit the accepting unit from accepting an instruction to collectively execute multiple image forming processes when a billing device is usable which bills a user for execution of an image forming process and which is incapable of acquiring user identification information for identifying a user.
Abstract:
For automatically transmitting an image file, a system transmits the file automatically through specifically specifying information for file transmission such as an address of a destination. The system includes a memory for storing a data file and an automatic transmission control file for briefly describing information of a file name of the file to be transmitted and a destination address, and a communication unit for transmitting the data file according to the automatic transmission control file. Therefore, the system can transmit the data file automatically only by having a memory storing the data file and automatic transmission control file connected to the communication unit.
Abstract:
An image processing system includes a first determination unit configured to determine a relationship between a user and another person established through utilization of a predetermined service, a second determination unit configured to determine a relationship between a first image, which is of the user and has been subjected to image correction processing, and a second image, which is of the another person, and a recommendation unit configured to, based on a determination result of the first determination unit and a determination result of the second determination unit, recommend image correction processing performed on the second image to the user.
Abstract:
A facsimile apparatus, including: a receiving device which receives facsimile information; an identifying information providing portion which provides identifying information for identifying the facsimile information received by the receiving portion; a facsimile information storing device which stores the facsimile information and the identifying information provided by the identifying information providing portion in a state in which the identifying information is corresponded to the facsimile information; an outputting controlling section which controls at least one of a display device and an outputting device to output the facsimile information corresponded to the identifying information; an outputted information storing device which stores outputted information indicating that the facsimile information has already been outputted by the outputting controlling section; and an informing section which informs the outputted information stored in the outputted information storing device, in a state in which the outputted information is combined with the identifying information corresponded to the outputted information.
Abstract:
A printing apparatus includes a platen glass, a read part, a print part, a sheet receiving part, an important information detection unit to detect whether important information is included in the original document read by the read part, a paper existence detection unit to detect at least one of whether the original document exists on the platen glass and whether the output sheet exists on the sheet receiving part, and a notifying part to notify misplacement of the original document or forgetting to take the output sheet if the important information detection unit detects that the important information is included in the read original document and the paper existence detection unit detects that the original document or the output sheet exists.
Abstract:
Methods and systems for processing outbound fax messages in an efficient and scalable manner are provided. According to one embodiment, an Internet fax system receives a request to deliver a fax message. Source files representing content to be included as part of the fax message are stored to a shared storage area accessible by imaging systems and fax processing resources. An imaging system is selected to convert the source files into a digital representation suitable for faxing. A work request identifying the selected imaging system is stored on a centralized work queue within a database. The imaging systems poll the centralized work queue to retrieve pending work requests. Responsive to identifying the work request, the selected imaging system converts the source files, associates the resulting digital representation with an outbound fax job and causes the fax message to be delivered by submitting the outbound fax job to a fax modem.
Abstract:
A facsimile machine receives image data, generates a password for received image data, assigns the generated password to the received image data, and stores the received image data. Information indicating a notification destination is extracted from the received image data, and the notification destination is notified of the password. The received image data are output responsive to subsequent input of the password at the facsimile machine. This scheme provides password protection without forcing users to register and remember passwords, and without the risk that a compromised password may be used for unauthorized output of facsimile data received later.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method of operating a mobile communications device includes a text message receiver and a printer for printing text messages, the method including the steps of; providing a medical monitoring device and receiving a data reading from a medical monitoring device with a text message communications device. The method also includes the steps of assembling a first message identifying a user, the medical monitoring device and the text communications device, and sending the first message to a remote healthcare professional via secure text message. Then receiving a second message back from the remote health care professional and printing the second message for a patient for example and returning acknowledgement of the second message back to a health care provider such as a doctor for example.
