This pressurized air exhausts from the bellows chamber via a shifting piston and cylinder mechanism within the bellows chamber that opens the bellows chamber at a specified location or point in the pump pumping cycle. The pressurized air exhaust from the bellows chamber acts on the end of the shuttle valve spool element to shift the spool element to its opposite position, which reverses the application of pneumatic pressure and atmospheric exhaust between the two bellows chambers to actuate the reciprocating pump.

    摘要: A high efficiency, low cost fluid pressure engine. This engine converts reciprocating piston motion to rotary output in a novel manner. The engine comprises at least two parallel pistons adapted to reciprocate in cylinders within an engine block closed by upper and lower heads. Each piston is rigidly secured to a piston rod located along the cylinder centerline and extending through substantially fluid tight packing in the lower head. The lower end of each piston rod is flexibly connected to a first connecting means which also includes an opening surrounding a first crank pin. A pair of reciprocating valve means, located within said engine block, are adapted to selectively introduce and exhaust the engine drive fluid into and out of the cylinder above and below the pistons. Valve push rods secured to said valve means are connected to a second connecting means which also has an opening surrounding a second crank pin. Swinging link means are provided interconnecting each of said first and second connecting means and the engine housing to constrain the movement of the piston rods and valve push rods to substantially linear motion. The first and second crank pins are mounted on a crank plate offset from an output drive shaft so that as steam or another fluid drives the pistons, linear motion is converted to rotary output motion. The output drive shaft is supported by a single main bearing which surrounds the output shaft where it passes through the wall of the engine housing. For greater power, a number of these engine units may be ganged.

    摘要: A fluid operated linear actuator control system for drive arrangements of the type wherein two fluid operated linear actuators act upon a shaft at an angle with respect to each other for causing rotation thereof is disclosed. The control system includes a fluid pressure source including a reservoir means, fluid passages connecting the pressure source with each of the fluid operated linear actuators, and control means for communicating the first of the linear actuators with fluid from the pressure source and fluid from the other with the reservoir means to displace the drive arrangement through a first arc sector, and for changing-over the communication to communicate the reservoir with fluid from the one actuator and the other actuator with fluid from the pressure source causing displacement of the drive arrangement through a second arc sector, wherein one of the actuators is in a driving mode while the other actuator is in a floating mode. According to a preferred embodiment, the control enables the drive arrangement to be locked in a fixed position via the use of piloted check valves in the fluid passages and cam switches are utilized to achieve the afore-noted change-over of communication between the actuators and the reservoir and pressure source. The control system is particularly applicable for use with linear actuators for an X-Y axis antenna drive arrangement.
