    摘要: A radial piston machine wherein the cylinder block rotates about a stationary pintle having in its external surface a highpressure chamber and a low-pressure chamber, and wherein the cylinder block has radially outwardly extending cylinder bores travelling seriatim in register with the chambers and with lands provided on the pintle between the two chambers. The lands of the pintle are provided with recesses in the form of cutouts or cavities which are in temporary communication with successive cylinder bores when the cylinder block rotates so that the pressure fields which develop in the region of the recesses communicating with cylinder bores containing pressurized fluid oppose radial movements of the cylinder block. The recesses in the lands of the pintle can be replaced by or provided in addition to recesses in the internal surface of the cylinder block.

    摘要: A multiple flow fluid handling machine of the radial piston type includes a rotor having a rotor end face, and two sets of working chambers connected by rotor passages with two sets of control ports on the rotor end face. The sets of rotor ports are spaced the same radial distance from the rotor axis. A stationary element has inlet and outlet passages, and control ports on a stationary end face. The control ports cooperate with the rotor ports, and are spaced from the rotor axis the same radial distance as the rotor ports. Control means press either the rotor with the rotor end face against the stationary end face, or press the stationary element with its stationary end face against the rotor end face. In the first case, control pistons in control cylinders of the rotor move the rotor axially, and in the second case, pressure fluid enters pressure chambers to urge the stationary element, which has portions in the pressure chambers, with the end face thereof against the rotor end face.

The rotor is composed of a stack of abutting rotor members pressed together by a thrust member partially located in a thrust chamber and having an eccentric portion located in one of the end covers of the housing.

    摘要: Improved fluid-mechanical and mechanical-fluid energy translation devices, such as fluid motors, pumps and certain actuators, meters, couplers and the like of the type having an orbital member disposed between a rotor element and a stator element and coupled with one of the elements by fluid displacement means and with the other element by gear means, are provided by employing therein a plurality of eccentric means for positively but shiftably mounting the member upon the element to which it is coupled by fluid displacement means in manner restricting relative motion between the member and the lastmentioned element to relative orbital motion. The element upon which the member is thus mounted may be either a rotor or a stator element and may be either the inner or the outer of the elements in various embodiments of devices incorporating the invention. The eccentric means, which are essentially cranks or shafts with offset axes, significantly are alone sufficient to accomplish the positive, shiftable mounting of the member and the restriction of same to relative orbital motion and to do so quite independently of any other fluid and mechanical couplings that may exist between the member and the elements in various particular forms of devices. The preferred embodiment also provides a further improvement in devices of this type employing vanes to define fluid displacement chambers by arranging the parts to maintain the pair of vanes bounding each chamber parallel to each other throughout the operating cycle, thereby maintaining the chordal transverse cross-sectional area of each chamber substantially constant throughout such cycle. The devices embodying the invention are characterized by increased efficiency and reliability, reduced wear on certain primary parts, and greater economy of manufacture by virtue of reduced strength and looser tolerance requirements in connection with certain primary parts.
