摘要： A pump includes a reservoir, a port, and a plunger. The reservoir delivers a liquid by discharging the liquid through the port coupled to the reservoir. A piston of the plunger defines a liquid side of the reservoir and a non-liquid side of the reservoir whereby movement of the plunger towards the liquid side of the reservoir discharges liquid through the port. The pump also includes a reference-volume assembly and/or a linear position sensor. The reference-volume assembly is coupled to the reservoir at an opposite end of the reservoir relative to the port and includes a reference-volume chamber in acoustic communication with the non-liquid side of the reservoir, a speaker disposed within the reference-volume chamber, and a reference microphone disposed within the reference-volume chamber. The pump estimate the amount of liquid discharged from the reservoir.

The system can include a cassette having dual pumping chambers and a distal fitment, the distal fitment having an outlet port configured for attachment to tubing for infusion administration and being disposed on a distal end of the cassette, the distal fitment further including opposing cutouts. The system can also an air in line sensor, the AIL sensor configured to bracket the distal fitment at the position of the cutout when the cassette is loaded on the pump. The cassette can be mechanically coupled to the pump. The cassette can include a user actionable flow stop. The system can be configured for cassette misload protection.

摘要： Aspects of the disclosure are directed to methods and/or apparatuses involving modifying flow and/or concentration of an agent being injected for characterizing a vascular system. As may be implemented in accordance with one or more embodiments, a liquid including an agent is injected into a vascular system, by dynamically modulating a flow rate of the agent being injected over a range of flow rates. The vascular system is characterized based on a response of the vascular system to the dynamic modulation. In some implementations, such an approach involves using an injector that operates to separately control the rate at which an agent and other liquid such as saline are injected. These approaches can be implemented with modulation schemes using one or more of a variety of functions.

摘要： An engagement mechanism associated with a reciprocally movable piston of a fluid injector is configured for releasably engaging an engagement portion at a proximal end of a rolling diaphragm syringe having a flexible sidewall configured for rolling upon itself when acted upon by the piston. The engagement mechanism has a plurality of engagement elements reversibly and radially movable relative to the engagement portion of the syringe between a first position, where the plurality of engagement elements are disengaged from the engagement portion of the syringe, and a second position, where the plurality of engagement elements are engaged with the engagement portion of the syringe. The engagement mechanism further has a drive mechanism for moving the plurality of engagement elements between the first position and the second position.
