摘要: A device for recording characters on a recording carrier uses mosaic recording mechanisms. In addition to the recording of the characters in the required character height, additional recording members are arranged in the recording head and a control device for the mosaic recording mechanism is constructed in an expanded manner so that alternately a height-extended character formation can be executed over all recording members. The device is suitable for recording capital and small letters, and the control apparatus is constructed so that all alternatively the capital letters and numerals can be recorded in an extended manner by an additional amount provided for the short heights of the small letters. The control apparatus for each of the two character heights to be formed by the mosaic recording head has its own character generator and switching means are provided so that the two character generators can be alternately effective for activating the mosaic recording head.

摘要: Systems and methods for laser assisted deposition of a material includes a printing unit configured to print individual dot-like portions of a material from a donor substrate onto a receiving substrate, and a vacuum shuttle configured to be positionable in two or three dimensions between the printing unit and the donor substrate and to engage the donor substrate upon application of a vacuum to the vacuum shuttle. The printing unit may include a coating system and a laser. The vacuum shuttle includes a vacuum channel about its periphery and an open window through which the laser irradiates the donor substrate. The vacuum channel is fluidly coupled to a vacuum inlet for receiving a vacuum suction, thereby to engage the donor substrate and hold it taught against the bottom of the vacuum shuttle in operation. The vacuum shuttle may also include one or more distance measuring sensors and fiducial markers.

摘要: In a large format printer, a print head which includes a plurality of drive elements is provided with a head drive circuit which applies a voltage which is based on a first drive signal, a second drive signal, and a reference voltage signal which are input from a control circuit via a cable to the drive element. In a first flat cable and a second flat cable which configure the cable and which are in an overlapping state, a first wire which propagates a first drive signal is adjacent to a third wire which propagates a reference voltage signal, a second wire which propagates a second drive signal is adjacent to a third wire, and, in an overlapping direction, the first wire faces the third wire and the second wire faces the third wire.

摘要: A small, compact multifunction printing device provides excellent ease of use with little possibility of slips and continuous paper jamming inside. The multifunction printer has a check processing unit and a continuous paper processing unit. The check processing unit has a U-shaped check conveyance path P1 that opens to the front of the printer and enables handling slips to be processed and the processed slips from the front of the printer. A continuous paper conveyance path P2 that conveys continuous paper fed from a paper roll in the roll paper compartment from the back to the front of the printer is formed on the inside of the check conveyance path P1, enabling replacing roll paper and removing processed continuous paper from the front. The conveyance paths P1 and P2 are independent of each other, the printing positions thereof are separated, and conveyed slips and continuous paper will not interfere with each other.

摘要: A ticket printer includes a path along which a strip of paper advances. The path terminates at a presentation outlet of a ticket separated from the strip. On the path, there is a movable deviating body that can selectively close or open an accumulating zone that branches off from the path and can receive a part of a strip that will be severed to form the ticket.

摘要: In a printing apparatus, a raster buffer for storing dot image data is divided into three layers in the direction of auxiliary scanning, and the respective layers are assigned to a writing layer in which a font pattern read from a font memory is written, a reading layer from which dot image data that have been written are read, and a write-waiting layer in which a font pattern that has overflown the writing layer is written, with the writing layer and the write-waiting layer having a capacity for storing a character having the biggest size among those which are used frequently. Prior to printing of dot image data, a font pattern is written in the writing layer, and the definition of the layer in which writing has been made is changed to a reading layer, dot image data is then read from the reading layer, the definition of the write-waiting layer waiting for the next writing is changed to a writing layer, and the definition of the reading layer from which the reading has been made is changed to a write-waiting layer, with such change of definition being made successively.

摘要: In a printing device capable of executing printing operation in a bold face print mode, provided are means for controlling a carriage so as to be stopped in a predetermined period of time before the first printing operation is executed so that an inconvenient vibration of the carriage is attenuated, and means for executing a plurality of printing operations included in a bold-face print after the vibration is sufficiently attenuated. Thus, qualities of the printed characters in the bold-face print mode are extremely uniform with each other.
