The water treatment device includes an activated carbon treatment section that receives an inflow of water having a total organic carbon concentration of 100 mg/l or less and adsorbs and removes organic matters contained in the water; and, on the downstream side of the activated carbon treatment section, a capacitive de-ionization treatment section including a pair of electrodes to which voltages having polarities opposite to each other are applied, a flow path, and ion exchange membranes. Ions contained in the water are adsorbed to the electrodes with voltages applied thereto, and voltages reverse to the voltages at the time of ions adsorption are applied to the electrodes to release the ions from the electrodes.

An efficient combined advanced treatment method of electroplating wastewater is disclosed, which belongs to the technical field of electroplating wastewater treatment. The method includes: after pretreatments including cyanide breaking, dechromization and coagulating sedimentation, introducing the electroplating wastewater to a contact oxidation tank for biochemical treatment, and settling the effluent from the contact oxidation tank down in an inclined pipe of a secondary sedimentation tank to realize the separation of the sludge from water; charging the effluent to a coagulating sedimentation tank, and undergoing coagulating sedimentation with the aid of a flocculant and a coagulant aid added; feeding the effluent, as an influent, to a resin adsorption tank for adsorption with a magnetic resin; and after passing through a filter, flowing the effluent after adsorption to a fixed bed resin adsorption unit, so as to realize the discharge up to standard and recycle of the effluent.

The invention relates to a method for treating wastewater containing hydrocarbons, in particular hydrocarbons from the group of compounds referred to as BTEX, comprising benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene and xylene aromatic compounds, said wastewater being in particular from the production or conditioning of natural gas, wherein, according to the method, the wastewater is subjected to stripping by the natural gas such that the hydrocarbon pollution is not only removed from the water by means of being transferred to the gas, but also eliminated during the subsequent combustion of the gas. The wastewater to be treated has a soluble BTEX content that is no higher than 1,200 ppm, preferably no higher than 900 ppm, and the weight ratio of the stripping gas to the treated water is less than 10%, the water being discharged from the stripper having a soluble BTEX content that is no higher than 30 ppm.

The first bio medium is located proximate an inlet end of the reactor and extends vertically between a top water level and the reactor's floor. The second bio medium is located proximate an outlet end of the reactor and extends vertically between a bottom water level and the reactor's floor. The media are adapted for retaining solids within the reactor as clarified water is withdrawn after treatment. The first bio media is further adapted to act as a baffle thereby causing wastewater to flow generally uniformly into a primary reactor zone. The aeration system includes a plurality of diffusers, some of which may be located adjacent or underneath the bio media and are adapted for promoting the shaking the bio media when activated in order dislodge excessive biomass therefrom.

The present invention provides an aeration lateral system designed to be site specific for new septic disposal areas or retro fitting to existing septic disposal areas to break up the biological clogging sludge mat at the interface of the wastewater and imported sand or native soil fill under or adjacent to disposal areas of a typical septic system. The lateral system provides uniform or other site specific distribution of fluids about the bio-mat of a wastewater disposal area, with lateral spacing and hole spacing varying based on the type of disposal area being utilized. The lateral system can also be utilized to provide continuous low volume air supply system to a wastewater disposal area or peat filter module. The air lateral installation includes methods to minimize airflow disturbance of the soil and methods to prevent air leakage.

Mini-metering and, low pressure, extended cycle durations increase the average microbial production balance and microbial Ratio to nutrients BOD. The raw sewage tank no longer requires gas removal prior to inspection due to oxic and anoxic microbial processes that mitigates H2SO4 gases.
