Disclosed are a signal transmitting method, a signal transmitting apparatus, and a system for transmitting and receiving a signal. The signal transmitting method comprises the steps of: discovering a companion device using a multicast mode; receiving and storing device type information from the discovered companion device; receiving an application uniform resource identifier (URI) and storing the application URI to correspond to the device type information; and identifying the device type information of the companion device selected by a user and transmitting to the selected companion device the application URI corresponding to the device type information.

A method of processing a broadcast signal including an interactive broadcast service at a transmitter is disclosed. The method comprises generating an parameter table containing metadata about applications and interactive broadcast events targeted to the applications, dividing the parameter table into a plurality of parameter blocks, inserting each of the parameter blocks into each of a plurality of parameter table sections, generating a trigger which is a signaling element to identify signaling and establish timing of playout of the interactive broadcast events, inserting the trigger into a closed caption channel of the broadcast signal, transmitting the broadcast signal including the closed caption channel and a specific channel carrying the plurality of parameter table sections, wherein the trigger includes location information specifying a location of the parameter table in the broadcast signal.

The digital service signal processing apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention, comprises: a generation module for generating a request for receiving signaling information of an application related to a program of a digital service signal using the channel information related to the program of the digital service signal; a control module for transmitting the generated request, receiving the signaling information of the application, and determining whether the application is stored using the received signaling information of the application; and a download module for downloading, if it is determined that the application is not stored, the application using the signaling information of the application.

A method of processing an interactive service and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. The present invention includes sending a discovery message to a second screen application running in a second device, wherein the discovery message advertises second screen support services that the first device can provide, receiving a request for descriptions of the second screen support services from the second screen application, sending a response with the descriptions to the second screen application, providing a HTTP proxy server using a HTTP proxy server service allowing the second device to access files that are received by the first device in a broadcast stream, wherein the HTTP proxy server service is one of the second screen support services, receiving the files from the broadcast stream and delivering the files to the second device via the HTTP proxy server.

The present invention proposes a method for transmitting a broadcast signal. The method for transmitting a broadcast signal according to the present invention proposes a system capable of supporting future broadcast services in an environment supporting future hybrid broadcasting using terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet. In addition, the present invention proposes efficient signaling methods for both terrestrial broadcast networks and the Internet in an environment supporting future hybrid broadcasting.

A device providing an emergency alert service via a mobile broadcasting, includes a data group formatter to generate a data group containing a part of a signaling data and a RS frame portion, and a broadcasting signal generating unit to generate a mobile broadcasting signal containing the data group. The FIC, included in the data group, is transmitted in a form of a plurality of FIC segments. The FIC segment header includes a wake-up identifier field indicating whether a mobile broadcasting receiver performs a wake-up function to automatically turn on a power and to provide the emergency alert message.
