Abstract: A device, system and method for sharing sensor data is provided. A request to access sensor data is received at a receiver device, from a requestor device, the sensor data acquired by sensors associated with the receiver device. The receiver device determines a status of the receiver device. The receiver device determines, from the status of the receiver device, a subset of the sensor data to share with the requestor device. The receiver device determines one or more override contextual conditions associated with one or more of the requestor device and the receiver device. When the one or more override contextual conditions meets one or more override threshold conditions, the receiver device causes the subset of the sensor data to be shared with the requestor device.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods and systems for contactless battery discharging. One embodiment takes the form of a contactless power-transfer system that includes a wireless-communication interface, a controller connected to the wireless-communication interface, a magnetic-resonance circuit, a power-conditioning circuit connected to the magnetic-resonance circuit, and a load element connected to the power-conditioning circuit. The controller is configured to determine that a smart-battery system is in a discharge-needed state and responsively transmit, via the wireless-communication interface, a battery-discharge command instructing the smart-battery system to generate an oscillating magnetic field. The magnetic-resonance circuit is configured to couple with the generated oscillating magnetic field and responsively output a corresponding power signal. The power-conditioning circuit is configured to receive the power signal from the magnetic-resonance circuit, rectify the received power signal, and output the rectified power signal. The load element is configured to receive the rectified power signal from the power-conditioning circuit.

Abstract: A method and circuit board arrangement for an intrinsically safe portable device includes two or more circuit boards having a frame structure that forms a contiguous boundary around a space between the circuit boards. In the space there are circuit components mounted on both circuit boards, and a connector that connect the two circuit boards. An encapsulant material fills the space bounded by the frame structure between the circuit boards to exclude airborne material from coming into contact with the encapsulated circuit components.

Abstract: An evidentiary electronic processor receives identifying data associated with respective ones of a plurality of communication devices associated with an incident. The evidentiary electronic processor determines an assignment status of each communication device using the respective identifying data. The assignment status indicates that a communication device is one of assigned to the incident, unassigned to the incident and associated with a first profile that is relevant to the incident, or unassigned to the incident and associated with a second profile that is irrelevant to the incident. The evidentiary electronic processor receives sensor data associated with the incident from a sending communication device out of the plurality of communication devices. The evidentiary electronic processor processes the sensor data based on a respective assignment status associated with the sending communication device.

Abstract: A system and method for providing navigational routing. The method includes determining, at a controller, a first route from a first location to a second location, the determination of the first route using a first set of routing rules. The method also includes determining, at the controller, a second route from the first location to the second location, the determination of the second route using a second set of routing rules applicable to public safety vehicles, the second set of routing rules different from the first set of routing rules. The method further includes the steps of accessing, at the controller, route information related to the second route; identifying, at the controller, a preferred route based on the first travel duration, the second travel duration, and the route information; and outputting the identified preferred route.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for wirelessly charging a chargeable device, such as a smart phone, digital music player, or navigation device, using a wireless charger. The wireless charger includes a connector, a retainer, and a wireless power transmitter. The connector is configured to secure the wireless charger to a visor in a passenger compartment of a vehicle. The retainer is configured to selectively retain a chargeable device having a recipient coil. The wireless power transmitter includes a charging coil configured to carry a fluctuating electric current that generates a changing magnetic field for receipt by a recipient coil of the chargeable device. The changing magnetic field induces a fluctuating electric current in the recipient coil, which is used to charge a battery pack of the chargeable device.
